After reviewing this fiasco, can anyone tell me why Dak and Micah expect big paydays?

I did not in any fashion state that this is the reason for the failures, I said it plays a bigger factor than we want to admit or talk about. Look no further than the below examples of coaches who hinder their teams development:

Andy Reid- Does NOT have the bodies on his team that MM and mannnnny others do, yet here we are. Sure he has Patty, but the man is a hall of fame coach that every team would love to have

Nick S- Do you think the iggles wouldn't benefit from having this clown troll the sidelines of another NFL team? He ha set back that franchise for years

Tomlin- Keeping the Steelers competitive as much as he can with little help from ownership

Riverboat Ron- Any team he has coached has suffered from his inability to coach

Chargers- Brandon S? Really? Harbaugh has lost players at every position, has his QB hurt again yet we all know what the end result will be with the Chargers in the next couple of years

I can go on all day about the importance of coaching in any Sport, and although this Cowboys team cannot fully blame JG/KM/MM, do not tell me they have not played major factors in our failures
The Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the world but have to lowest paid coach in the NFL.

The Cowboys are 32nd in cash spending in the NFL since 2021.

I think the Joneses have a cash flow problem.

Dak wants to get paid without having to actually earn it. I would have no problem paying him if he had more playoff success, but he's a proven choker and playoff loser. Worst of all he's a me first type of person who doesn't give 2 spits about how an obnoxious contract will cause problems with the construction of the team. Jerry really needs to let him go in free agency next off season, but I have a bad feeling he will cave.

Parsons - he wants paid, plain and simple, and he is showing all the signs that he will become a ghost before the ink dries on his contract. The smart move would be to trade him for high picks, but Jerry approaches roster construction with his emotions rather than a business mindset.
The same could be said about Lance too, JJ got way too involved with this NFL Bust and now JJ is pretty much handing him the No 2 spot AND the No1 spot if the Cowboys can't get the NFL's No 1 overpaid, over hyped, less than mediocre Prescot signed to another ridiculous extension.

Jerry has to look what the Eagles did, look how many first rd picks they had...Trade some players, don't hide them...

Dak: If you read my posts you know my stance. Yes Dak was runner up MVP, yes Dak is likely a top 12 QB...yes Dak goes down in the history books as an all time Cowboys stats leader...Yes, Dak has been gifted offensive weapons his entire career here in Dallas...Yes, Dak was in dire need of a HC who could have helped him solve his jitters in big games...Yes, Dak deserves a big contract based on all this...NO, Dak in no way deserves to be paid as the top QB in the NFL

Micah: Yes, he disappears in big games....Yes, is a DPOY candidate every year....Yes, he is a beast when on his game and not being double/triple teamed....Yes, Micah as well could have benefited from a DC who knows how to utilize his talents better....Yes, Micah deserves the contract he wants as the lineup to grab him will far out number the one that will lineup for our QB if he walks

The common denominator in my post is as much as I want to blame these two for their performances in big games, coaching has a much bigger role in their failures than we want to admit
I wouldn't say Micah's a beast, he makes one play in a game and people think he's the greatest...

So trade a sure thing for an opportunity? The Walker trade makes a lot of people thinks it's easy.
Plus Jimmy being fresh out of college probably picked most if not all of the players they got in that trade

Do we have faith that Jethro can pick as well in 2025?

Top 10 QB in Sept to Thanksgiving.
Top 15 Thanx to XMas
Top 35 in Jan.
Dak doesn’t play defense, esp run stopping defense and it was Jerry’s decision not Dak’s to continue to hire head coaches and proceed to hire their staff for them and take away most of their power. Having a toothless lion for a head coach really hurts the team come playoff time, but Jerry do what Jerry do. This is Jerry’s mess, not Daks. Do you know how bad this team will be without Dak?

So Dak not willing to sign with Dallas is a good thing. Correct?
A good thing in the long run.

Parsons make .83 per game. Nothing at which to spit upon. But almost 1 sack per game and his disappearance in the Packers game should be leverage to demand mega dollars.

Dak only plays defence at post-playoff game interviews.

Dak Prescott struggled throughout the 48–32 loss, despite throwing for 400 yards and three touchdowns. He was particularly woeful in the first half when he threw two interceptions, including a pick six, as the Cowboys were down 20 heading into the break.
Dak picked up a lot of yards during trash time in the second half.

I shudder to think how ineffective we'd be in the playoffs without Dak.

I think a LOT of people are taking our "one-and-done's" in the playoffs for granted.

After all, throwing tons of INTs and getting embarrassed in the wildcard game every year, is better than not even going to the wild card game every year

(Isn't it?)

If Dak gets injured or traded,Cowboy fans will quickly find out how bad we are without him. Jerry has rarely valued the backup QB position and Trey Lance is awful and no team will trade with Dallas for him. There were some great RBs in the draft avail in the 4th round but Jerry squandered the pick making an impulse decision yet again.

Don't under estimate what a new coaching staff can do....Quinn didn't coach him. He just used his athleticism to send him and pad stats for his new job. I'd rather see his growth before I give up on him

Yes, and I think Zimmer's style will benefit Parsons. Not only do I think his rush lanes will be more sophisticated, but I think he will 1. Have more lanes to rush through because of Mazi Smith learning from Zimmer and 2. Will be able to grow as a player. I think Parsons being a LB/DE will be valuable with Zimmer. Unlike Quinn, I don't think it's going to be just send him after the QB. I think it's going to be more sophisticated in the lanes and the technique that Zimmer will be teaching him. Plus, he had Kendricks to learn from, who played a similar role for Zimmer in Minnesota.
