After slow start, DE Russell starting to make strides.

Fringe players are never traded for and won't be from this team.

Yes they do get traded. It happens all the time, but compensation is low.

Caesar Rayford - The Cowboys trading for him despite him being a player that was not going to make Indy's roster due to the scheme (3-4).

Lavar Edwards - The Cowboys traded a conditional pick for him but he didn't meet the conditions so it didn't end up costing anything.

Sean Lissemore - The Cowboys were going to cut him but were able to get a 7th from SD.

So teams are sitting around watching our team, where DLine was an admitted weakness last season, for cuts of guys who were part of last seasons weakness?

These guys aren't world beaters all of a sudden, just because we've added real talent around them. The additions we made which made this line a strength, and the guys who've shown real progress aren't going anywhere. I don't think any of the roster churn that might come from our inherent strength on the DL now, will result in the loss of much talent. Nor do I think it's going to result in the acquisition of any.

For one teams don't know who will get cut. But not only that teams trade so they know they get the guy they want.

No not pissed but people use your head. Don't ask me how you going to trade a guy that is cut. Stupid question

Make a stupid assumption and you'll get asked a stupid (i.e. sarcastic) question.

I can't say for a fact, but I feel like this isn't really a league wide thing, but something a handful of teams do. It's usually the same teams each season.

It is common practice in the NFL. It just does not get much media coverage.

Back it up. How many players were traded midway through training camp last year across the NFL?

You can do the research. I've already shown that your original post was incorrect just using the Cowboys as an example.

There were 12 players traded by 6 teams in August of 2014. 6/30 teams, sound like a "handful", kind of like I said.

I've done this with you before though, here comes another spin to show how/why you know more than me. Round and round we go.

September should be included. An accurate assessment would look at all trades the past several years from July through September.

I didn't include September because it won't let me sort by date and I am not going to filter out 3/4 of a month myself. I'm also not going back more seasons because I provided proof for my argument, just like you. Whereas you provided one team, I provided one season.

Like I said, round and round we go...

Just use all of September. Most trade happen right before the final cut down which is in September.

You have not proven anything yet. Obviously all teams are not going to do it every year. It requires reviewing the data for multiple years to see if only certain teams show up. ll

August 2013 looks much busier, with 12 trades by 11 teams.

However, I will say, through two off seasons, the Cowboys, Patriots, Lions and Colts seem to be the most active by far. Each has multiple trades each off season. They're the only teams with multiple trades as well.

There were no trades in Sept 2014.

Come on man. Bend a little. For once...

You said it rarely happens and I said it happens all the time.

I'm sure the answer is somewhere in the middle.

My original guess would have been about 8 bubble players per year traded and that almost all teams were involved at least once every 4 years.

Holy guacamole, did we just agree to disagree? :omg:

Is not a stupid assumption cause it happens all the time. Maybe if you kept up better you would know this.

If you think teams don't scout other teams players in preseason you really should pay more attention and gain some knowledge that you're lacking

I think he makes the 53. It's like having a swing tackle. He can play both de and dt.
