There will be another wave of free agency, teams trying to fill holes they couldn't fill during the draft. Will the Cowboys be active, I'm assuming they will be!! Please give your thoughts, happy Easter

I read somewhere that this doesn't mess with a teams compensatory picks, does anyone know about this more in depth??

Prices will be more in line for what the Cowboys are looking at so I expect to see them more active.

There won't be this big flurry of activity but some signings of middle of the road type players.

Draft, then they fill immediate needs with free agents, then TC filling needs as injury occurs, then season starts and they will ride or die with what they have or on a rare occasion they may add a piece but only if they absolutely have too.

Someone calls for Jerry's head, because he didn't draft the player they wanted. I'd bet all my limbs this happens.

Totally agree

What’s left after the draft is possibly picking up a crumb or two that’s left in free agency. A cheap signing because we’ve made it clear we’re not spending much on outsiders. We’re pretty much banking on the draft from this point on.

Then its on to the annual 4 months of glory , baseless conjecture, and hope. ...... the key components of the jerrah era. All our draft picks are future pro bowlers during this period and everything they do in practice will be magnified 100X. Someone will start a Jeff Heath thread.

Hope we add depth in free agency.
Doubt we sign any big names based on the past.

We will sign a bunch of cheap scrubs like we always do and never go anywhere in the playoffs.

Rinse repeat until all the Joneses are not alive

The draft will bring either a small sliver of hope to some fans or just add more misery to what has been a bad offseason.

Most if not all of the free agents we sign after the draft will be undrafted free agents.

After the draft? Premature draft grades.

Right, a lot of A’s and B’s will turn into some C’s, D’s and possibly some F’s in 2-4 years. All the grades are based on if you addressed your needs with players that are seen as good value picks. Your first two picks makes up a majority of your overall grade.

Hopefully, Stephen might catch on with the idea that spending more than in the past can reap greater benefits.

It would surely be nothing mind-boggling but just a noticeable improvement over what he's spent in past years.

The current cap situation can allow such an unusual circumstance to bear fruit with more space under the cap.

Then and for the future with some additional free agent talent available, perhaps additional success is possible.

Kind of depends. How many UDFA’s they sign to fill out the 90 man roster. I am sure there will be a few if at the right deal though.
They could wait until after OTA’s and mini camps, and right before TC to bring anyone else in.

Right now there are around 64 on the roster. Add 9 draft picks, to 73. That leaves 17 open spots.
They usually sign 12 to 15 UDFA”s sometimes more. So there is a good chance they may sign a few vet players.

I think May 5th is the cutoff date for the comp pick formula, but I am not 100% for sure.

The usual suspects will be in full chest thump mode right up until about the tenth week of the season. Then vanish without a trace like always.
