After the wait what if it's the whole band brought back of coaches?

Meaning the entire staff from 2024? What’s your opinion?

Prepare yourselves as Jerry waits it out and then generally reverts back to what he knows. Only reason anything changed last season was DQ left with his assistants.

Yup, Jerry like his guys,,
Likes familiarity...
Likes to be comfortable.
The entire staff coming back is the most likely outcome.
Maybe Zimmer retires ?

It would not be the best decision. There have been a mix of coaches over the past five years but Mike McCarthy has overseen every staffing version. Dallas netted both winning and losing seasons. A streak of five postseason appearances is noteworthy but he has had ample opportunity to do the job.

It is not his fault the GM cannot uphold his end. It is time to move on. It is equally unfortunate that the log-time problematic variable would choose the next head coach AND staff but it is what it is.

It would fit in perfectly with the rule of doing things in the stupidest way possible.

To be fair the only two losing seasons Mike had Dak was out for the season. The GB debacle was unacceptable, but no one was held accountable. The SF losses the other two seasons were predictable. We just weren’t good enough, and that’s GM related for sure. It’s funny because each and every playoff scenario for the past 20 years we’re always missing something. Our GM unfortunately has never figured that one out….

It is unfair for any head coach to not have their starting quarterback running their offense. That cannot be argued. On the other hand, Mike McCarthy had Dak Prescott fully for three out of those five seasons too.

Injuries are a part of football. Jobs are often collateral damage because of injuries, of which are never on anyone's schedule.

In my opinion, McCarthy was unlucky two of five years. There is no guarantee he will be lucky for any span of additional seasons Jerry Jones will give him.

I wish Dallas did not have a gambler as its general manager. Someone competent in making a head coach hiring decision after doing a thoroughly vetted interview process.

In the end, Jones will gamble on who should be his 2025 head coach going forward. Maybe he will gamble on McCarthy. Maybe it will be someone else. We will all know soon but for what it is worth this is one instance when I want Jones to gamble against re-upping McCarthy, lol.

if we are sold on returning the entire 2024 coach staff ... then we entirely deserve whatever we get from them in 2025.

Of course JJ is bringing McCarthy back. He made Dak the highest paid player in NFL history after his epic choke job against Green Bay. It's just what Jerry does.

If they dont add any good players, same as last year, it won't matter anyway.

I had an epiphany last night - as it stands our best positional group might actually be the offensive line, and we have questions at LT, RG, RT. Ceedee and what? Who knows at RB. QB is what it is. TE disappointing.

DL - who will even be on it?
LB - disaster potential
CB - Bland, do we bring back Lewis? Diggs apparently severe injury.
S - meh.

Idk, off the top of my head that's not great.

Yikes.

DL - Parsons, Mazi, Kneeland, Williams, Rogers. You likely see them try to retain Osa, Golston and Lawson. But that’s a solid 4 at DE if one is retained.

LB - Liafau, Overshown (hopefully back sooner). You likely see another vet MLB signed.

CB - Diggs, Bland, Carson. Lewis likely comes back as he says he wants to be here

S - They likely release Hooker or Wilson and roll with Thomas/Bell opposite of whomever they keep.

I don’t think it’s as dire as you are making it out to be. They definitely need to nail at least 1-2 new starters via draft and free agency.

LB is the scariest of all. But if they sign Kendrick’s back and sign a guy like Dre Greenlaw it becomes a strength

There will be no quick rebuild with these idiots. We are looking at a couple more seasons of mediocrity before we are flat out terrible for a couple seasons. Only then will Jerry admit (privately) failure and begin to rebuild. Unfortunately he has no plan in place for an actual rebuild, and I doubt that goes smoothly either. Maybe McClay keeps it from going completely off the rails. Hope I'm wrong on all accounts.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. But unless Jerry changes his SOP, the Cowboys are going to suck next year too. I'm talking 7/8 wins. But we'll see. They believe in their process.
