after watching the playoff game replay

That's one of 2-3 bad plays for Romo. I believe one of two things happen on that play perhaps both.
1) Romo had a d-lineman in the best passing lane to get the ball to Owens in stride.
2) Romo had the ball slip out of his hand slightly trying to release it quick enough to get it to Owens in the passing lane he had availible.

Despite all of that Dallas had a chance to win and blew it. :starspin

BTW, that was a bad grounding call on Romo.

reading the stats tells nothing. go back and watch the game again, he did great with what was given to him. with how the line did late, and some costly drops.. only really having 1 bad throw with d linemen in his face..

those hating on romo in that game are drinking to much haterade, or havent watched the game again.

neither was thier secondary.

Yet they stepped up in the post season. Dallas, GB and the Pats and the Giants were able to put pressure and not get burned deep by any of them. Those are 3 pretty damn good offense the Gaints faced.

We don't think this way. Maybe if the Boys had been beaten soundly in each playoff game I might question this team and if it could win a playoff game.

So just for the record, I'm not going through this year with any concern for this team winning a playoff game.

I'm going to enjoy each week of this season as we march toward our 6th Superbowl victory.

Question I have for you is if you realize just how much better a team the Cowboys are than your lowly redstinks?
no matter what you do during the upcoming regular season,if you make postseason that monkey grows even larger on your backs..your team now knows it can lose on the road an at home with a bye week, thats a heavy burden!

True until they can overcome and take it all the way their critics will question them. Dallas enters this season with high expectation being placed on them and not just by Cowboy fans. So bring on the monkey this team will deal with that fuzzy ape.

Hmmm, that was just a tough loss because the better team clearly did not win...

That is why they play the games. I think all in all Dallas was the better team, I thought GB was also the better team and no doubt most felt the Pats were the better team.

I agree 100 percent with this thread......ROMO played very good in his 1st playoff game.....as a qb....should not have been a holder in the 1st place.....but, hindsight is what?

Whoa there, CC...33 words! Take it easy man, you are going to have a heart attack!!!

Very true.

Which is why I'm still scratching my head.

those claiming he played "great" in that playoff game are either being a homer or don't reconize a great qb performance in the post season. I have watched the game. there was some drops but he also made some bad throws and only completed half of his throws. he also made some stupid decisions by taking those sacks or atleast the one where he thought he was vick trying to run around the whole giants front 7. last but not least he made a stupid decision to throw to a has been sissy(when his daddy isn't coaching him anymore) in terry glenn who was double covered to lose the game.

my Commanders had there chances to beat seattle, but we didnt play well enough..I like to have the set up your cowboys had last year, homefield throughout, bye week to rest after a outstanding regular season..and then choke at home with everything in your favor..WOW!! I dont know if you can blame romo for all of it,but he is the QB and this was his 2nd chance in 2 years to win a playoff game,in which he lost one on the road and the other at home with everything in the teams favor..you cant help but wonder can he and this team get it done!!:)

On a serious note. I would be concerned about that quitting angle on the Commanders.

Call what the Cowboys did what you want? A choke, a crumble, not getting it done... whatever you like. They DID NOT STOP trying in that game. Went right down to the last 2 plays of the game.

I watched Santana flat out quit on his QB more than once. The game was in reach.
I watched the Commanders O-line Ole the defenders through into Collins.

That dont fly.

NO RAMPAGE! Posters will tell u that our best reciever was hurting and was double covered and Terry was the only option. You didnt know that????????? Tony Romo made the perfect decision on that play, dont you doubt him!

With all this talk of Craytons/Fasanos drop , Romo's mistakes etc .. why no mention of the defense just gift wrapping the Giants 1st 14pts. Or the special teams giving up huge yardage in crucial situations. To me , we should have started the 2nd half no worse than being up 14-6 with the ball.

Sure the offense failed to pull out the victory in the end , but it was the defense/special teams that let the lead slip away in the first place.

Defense wins championships.

Romo only competed 50% of his passes and you want to call that great? I call that mediocre at best. he was wildly erratic with his accuracy, throwing a perfect pass only to let the next one get away from him.

His hand was banged up and it showed.

3 things loss us that game. The Offensive Line couldn't block(2nd half), Some play calling(need some MAX protection), and maybe the biggest thing SPECIAL TEAMS. It was a tale of two halfs. Jimmy Johnson always said," win 2 out of the 3(Offense,Defense,Special teams) and you will win the ball game"
First Half, we won the Offense and Special Teams(defense let us down big time..the drive right before halftime 3-4 plays for a TD), then the second half, the offense and SPECIAL TEAMS let us down.(defense play great considering how many times they were put in a hole.)

We lost 2 out of 3 in the second half = Giants Win.

Thanks for the post.

I saw that same replay and never understood why people blamed Romo's vacation for that loss.

I think the whole team should have went on a vacation. Maybe they'll play better.:laugh2:

The vacation was blamed because it was the easy way out. Even Lindy's preview makes a reference to it. When he took the holiday, you knew that if he didn't win, the holiday would be blamed.

Romo did not play great. he made some big mistakes just like the rest of the team. my god when it comes to Romo and the playoff game here it turns into an excuse fest.
Bingo! right on the money. i have watched this game over and over. and Romo like many of the cowboys did not play championship football.Romo missed owens wide open for a TD. he also took sacks when he was outside the pocket instead of throwing the ball away. and he also underthrew owens on a bomb that would have been another touchdown. he did not lose the game on his own. but he was a big part of losing that game.that short pass to Whitten to whitten on that last drive with no timeout was also stupid. this guy did not play championship fpootball in that game. and to suggest otherwise is flatout wrong.it is what it is.

Romo played well enough to win if the rest of the team had played as well. Reeves, Crayton, the O line all let hus down at various times.
Both Erik Williams and Nate Newton say the O line was gassed at the end of the game and that settles that for me. Its what I thought as well.
Crayton dropped a huge pass and quit on a pattern that could have made the difference. fasano dropped a big one. Reeves stank it up all game long.
Frankly Romo is about 5th or 6th on the list as reasons for losing. I do think his hand was bothering him at times as well. Its hard to blame a QB for not doing well when he was getting the kind of Rush he was in the 2nd half- which many of his critics so convienently forget to mention.
