Kiffins coaching must have paid off. Webb snuffs Green right off the jump. Hamilton knocks a pass away from Freedman.

Escobar with circus catch on Wilcox who was in perfect position underneath.

Heath knocks the ball down playing off the hip Stewart. Amos with a 4 route that Harris can't keep up with.

Hamilton has been a nightmare for Freedman on last two reps. He has knocked down two passes.

Wilcox much better driving on the ball from the middle of the field. Able to get a snatch interception. Positioning was better.

I don't believe that BJ Stewart is long for this team. Two times in a row he lined up in the wrong spot in the formation HC had enough.

Has anyone noticed how close T.Williams catches the ball to his body? I've watched a ton of video on this kid, and that's my only concern..But, it's a big concern. I'd say 75% of the time, he's not using his hands to catch the ball...

Has anyone noticed how close T.Williams catches the ball to his body? I've watched a ton of video on this kid, and that's my only concern..But, it's a big concern. I'd say 75% of the time, he's not using his hands to catch the ball...

Did he do this in a very productive college career? If so why the concern now? I am just interested in the reasoning that this would be a problem at the nfl level.

I'm not worried about it. He's a very talented guy.

But it is entirely different in the NFL. The coverage is infinitely tighter.
You have to become more of a hands catcher or you'll lose all the tightly contested battles for the ball--plus it takes that extra split second to get to you if you don't reach out, snatch it, and pull it in.

Again, I'm sure dallas scouted him thoroughly. They would take him that early if they tough this was a long term issue. He's not a total body-catcher anyway. he can use his hands, but just needs to imrpove on in it as he goes forward.
Few positions take longer to impact a team in the NFL than WR. Not all the time, but usually it's not until year 3 that guys really break out.

Michael Irvin was a guy who caught the ball quite close to his body often. He felt it made it harder for the defenders to dislodge the ball with a hit to cause a dropped pass or a fumble. He mainly did it when going over the middle though.

My theory is the coaching staff is telling him to catch the ball away from his body and it is leading to him dropping a few passes.
