In reality it could be a 4/52m deal spread over 6 years

The cap hits would be 6m, 8m, 12m, 13m, 7m, 6m- dead money

I agree with this guys take on what a fair contract should be

Suggested contract
Signing Bonus:
$7.5 Million ($3.75 Million with 15 days of execution; $3.75 Million payable in 17 equal installments over the regular season)
Guaranteed Money: $36.75 Million
Fully Guaranteed At Signing: $30 Million
Deal Total: $71.25 Million
Contract Length: 5 Years
Average Per Year: $14.25 Million

you left out supervision !! Cowboys want the same supervision he's had to continue if they are going to guaranttee him 30 mil.
Dez wants no supervision.
Dez I read had 3 people living with him who are not they type cowboys want him hanging out with.
If Dez were to go off the rails then cowboys are stuck with the contract, plus Dez would be missing games.

Now since your a agent now,.lol what if dez says he want 70 mil G and 20 mil Signing Bonus, and no supervision !! >>??
All else looks ok to him.

If you don't think a player will take less money for a chance to win a championship, then you haven't been paying attention..

If you think that we can get away with tagging a player of Bryant's Caliber twice, shipping him off like a piece of **** at the end, then think that other high profile players will want to come here and play for us/trust us. You lost your mind.

I'm not the writer of the article who is a sports agent. As for supervision as the writer posted that would be the same clauses placed in the contract that Tony Romo or any other player should have.
Bottom line is do the Cowboys want to keep him longterm if they do then the numbers this agent posted are likely what it will take, if not then Dallas will pay the franchise tag of 12.5 mill this year and another year on the franchise tag will increase to 15.3 mill for the season.

Players understand this is a business as well and if Dallas is paying they will be playing. Really comes down to Dez giving in some and the Cowboys giving in some, this is not a 1 way street where the player dictates what they want and the team knees down before them. I think a deal can be reached but it will take both sides to do it

You read this where? Are you referring to the McMahon piece from the winter with David Wells commenting?

David Wells needs to shut up and let the kid go.

No it was another article about dez and contract issues. It isnt just about the $,
and Jones boys dont want to invest in dez with no supervision for him.
A quote from Dez was " no one asks Murray how many people are living with him" google that quote and article should come up.

ok I did not see that you were quoting from article.

Again then that is Jones choice, he can tag him at 12.5 then again at 15.3 or he can give him a long term deal. You can have a clause in a contract to protect the team and still pay out the money without a baby sitter for Dez.

Didn't find it. I'm not sure why I have to source your claim either.

Other high profile players will do whatever is in their own best interests. If a top caliber free agent hits the market and Dallas is the highest offer (or is reasonably close enough to compete) then that player won't care in the slightest what happened to Bryant.

Well I use https://classic.startpage.com not google, and did a search and on 1st page there it was .
Here is link
http://www.***BANNED-URL***/sports/...club-concerned-wr-i-ve-done-nothing-wrong.ece

That article doesn't say three people. It said *gasp* ten people were over one night. That was published two days after Christmas mind you. That was the news cycle I was talking about.

Immediately following that as well as the Walmart video, Dez Bryant talked of betrayal. A few months later, Wells and West got cease and desist letters. Wells was the babysitter and he was the one leaking the information on Bryant's rehabilitation.

It's an obvious conflict of interest and I think it irresponsible of journalists to allow him to be an unnamed source on Dez Bryant.

it's called collective bargaining agreement and free agency, and I can think of better ways of using that money saved on keeping our offensive and defensive lines together where games are won, that were drafted and developed, receivers are a dime a dozen....17 million for a guy that might catch 6 balls a game isn't the game changer you think....We signed Laurant Robinson a few years ago, he was the best receiver at little money that year..try to be a fan of the TEAM and not individual players..Dallas won't miss Murray and they wouldn't miss Dez when you have a dominant offensive and defensive line...he can go play for Oakland for 17 million and see how that works out for him...

here is something else in that article I found interesting.
When a Dallas Morning News reporter hoped to broach the subject with Bryant two weeks ago, he became enraged and stormed through the halls of Valley Ranch shouting epithets and profanity.

No one can tell me who can live at my house,” he said moments later in the privacy of a meeting room, while declaring that only three others live at the home. “Do you ask DeMarco Murray who is at his house?”

Bryant’s home in the gated community is owned by Royce West, the longtime state senator who represents Texas’ 23rd District, which includes much of DeSoto.
West, who has owned the house since 2009, is a member of a support group of prominent citizens, established to mentor Bryant.

So not actually bryants house! lol

The Cowboys and Bryant apparently were close to a new contract before the season, but they couldn’t come to an agreement. Bryant has since changed agents. He now is on his third in five seasons. The Cowboys’ last reported offer limited the amount of guaranteed money in the early years of the contract to try to protect themselves should any serious trouble surface.

"three Cowboys employees in recent weeks separately used the word “concern” in describing Bryant’s living arrangement. All three asked not to be identified. One said there are as many as 10 people at the house. "
I took this to mean 10 were living or staying at the house.
The bottom line is the jones feel Dez is likely to get in trouble or do drugs if left unsupervised, and they dont approve of who he hangs out with.

The only reason Dez got into NFL making good money and showing what he can do, and stayed out of trouble, is due to the cowboys, and part of that
was he accept supervision.
Now he wants a big contract but no supervision.
He said he hasnt been in trouble lately, but he also has not been unsupervised ! lol
If he had been a angel and only hung with approved people, he would probably get a contract without the supervision by now.

He should take the money and the supervision at this point and then retire and do what ever he wants.

That is not what it says. Everything else I said about Wells etc stands. It bears mentioning that there was a 3 man team that was on call 24 hours for Dez that included David Wells. One of that crew would have been present at the Walmart where the alleged taping occurred.

BTW that incident with Dez and his mother was back in 2012. He was being 'supervised' up until the date on that article, 12/17/14. He hasn't been in any sort of trouble in over 2 years.

But HE HAD TEN WHOLE PEOPLE OVER AROUND CHRISTMASTIME!

Do you know who Royce West is? David Wells pled guilty to felony tax evasion but you can imagine the dynamic between defense attorneys and bondsman. That is Wells longtime business associate from his bounty hunting days and is still obviously bankrolling his enterprises. Both of them have lots of contacts in the media and use them to push their own agendas.

They are the two that got cease and desist orders and Dez says they betrayed him. Difference is that Horn, Taylor, McMahon, et al won't let Bryant speak as an unnamed source.

I would really love to see this team without Dez just to test your theory.
