AI - Artificial Intelligence - Will it eat you Alive?

Take it for what it's worth but CBS Sunday morning had a recent Nobel prize winner who is generally considered as the one of the first pioneers of AI.

He stated that one third of all AI spending should be on security issues and pointed out that in the rush to not fall behind tech companies were not spending anywhere close to that number. (security meaning AI self awareness and loss of control on the human end).

He had many interesting insights too many to list here, but on a humorous note (sort of, because he was dead serious) he stated that he keeps his money in many different banks because the security of these institutions are simply not going to be enough going forward, as in real soon.

As mentioned in the video first posted in the thread, when AI can truly self code, as all tech companies and certain governments are working frantically towards completing, literally no one can properly predict the consequences.

Companies and governments will be saving so much money by eliminating headcount that part of the profits will go to the humans who are no longer required.
Yes they talk in the video that as things potentially explode there will have to be a UBI (univeral basic income) as humans will literally be no longer needed to manufacture/create anything.

Crazy stuff.

Watching Mountainhead on Max right now. 4 top tech guys in a large mountain home, watching World go into chaos due to AI, one of them released to everyone. Pretty on point with this post

I created an AI Snoopy in a Cowboys uniform.

then you must have been pretty lousy at your job
It’s pretty basic and has been around for a few years. Research regenerative batteries. The most common being used in hybrids and electric vehicles. They use kinetic energy by the electric motor acting as a generator during deceleration. It sends that energy back to the battery. In the meantime, pull your foot out of your mouth.

in the meantime, get a grip
I met oblivious techies a lot in thirty years in the DOD
you seem typical
Clearly you never worked with anything that really mattered
and trying to claim regenerative batteries would apply in what this thread is about is really down there in la la land

AI/Quantum Computing/Robotics and who knows what else is out there will change humanity forever.

8.1 billion plus humans alive today? How many of those are even semi prepared consciously for what's coming?

These new changes don't strike me as something that will require greater understanding of new gadgets, but rather greater use of one's own mind.

I think there's a lot of people who will be unwilling to change with the times, and some people in other countries just won't know how to even try.

New age is coming, could say it's already here.
Along w/ overpopulation.

Water's already getting in short supply.
