Here's this weeks Aikman Efficiency Ratings. The Cowboys fell three places in the overall rating (combined offensive and defensive ratings) this week, from #3 to #6. They are #7 in offense (down from #4 last week) and #13 in defense (down from #11 last week).

The Aikman Ratings de-emphasize total yards, and place higher value on turnovers, red zone efficiency, 1st downs and adjusted scoring for offense/defense. Rod Marinelli and Lovie Smith are both big advocates of the Aikman stats.

The biggest anomaly in the rankings so far is the Eagles - they rank #28 overall even though they're 4-1. They've turned the ball over more than any team in the league and have been inefficient in the red zone, and their defense has allowed a ton of first downs, but so far have managed to win in spite of all that. The Aikman ratings have a history of correlating pretty well with W/L records, so you'd expect that big of an anomaly to start disappearing as the season goes along.

The Saints are first in the League in Offensive Rating and last in the league in Defensive Rating.

How do the AERs handle ST data? Or is it just Offense and Defense? That might explain the Eagles....

I remember that card.
When it first came out, it was selling at a high price. Pro Set started that year and Troy's rookie card had him in action in his UCLA uniform, not just a face pic.
But that card would sale for $1 top, but this Score card was going much higher. Can't remember the price. I never bought one of them, as I thought it was over priced at the time.

I still have boxes unopened, as well as individual wax packs, unopened, of Pro set cards from 1989 to like 1993, boxed away, can't what years I have though.

It looks like they just ignore special teams completely, and you're right, that wouldn't take into account a team that is either really good or really bad on ST's.
