Aikman Getting Frustrated

Troy seems to be about done with the NFL right now. Not very happy with the Cowboys organization either.
So is Collinsworth and Michaels.

They all know garbage when they smell it.

Troy’s a lifelong cowboy - he wants them to succeed just as much as most fans

The fact that Jason Garrett has been allowed to coach this team for a decade, without winning ANYTHING, is absolutely ludicrous

boggles me, ten years.

Will the Dakbots try to make a case that he was good today?

That option pitch to Zeke certainly was special. Lol

Dak wasn’t good, but he’s only been here four years. Jason has been here since 2007.

The special teams were inexcusable, but the field goal was the right decision.

It’s not just this game, and it’s not just the play-calling. I mean, they’ve fallen behind in nine of eleven games this year, often by multiple scores. For a coach who emphasizes preparation and execution, his teams seem out-prepared and out-executed weekly.

A ton on that is on the players though. It's in their personalities.' We'vegot some divas who don't respond well to coaching.

Andy Reid doesn't fire players up. He's had some real stinker seasons. Neither does Kyle Shanahan or Doug Pederson.

It's the players. Gotta pay the right ones.

Aikman knows what it is like to suffer through poor coaching. He got enough of it after Jimmy left.

Yeah. I'll just guess here: I don't know if Aikman liked any of the coaches he played under after Jimmy left. Though I may be wrong.

I remember him trying to tell everyone that Patrick Jeffers was a great WR for the Cowboys and to keep him. Then Jeffers left and had great success (with Carolina I think) until he got injured.

Aikman is a good talent evaluator too IMO.

Poor Garrett. If only he had players who executed, he’d be awesome. :(

For good reason. Periera needs better glasses if he really thought that was even close to a trip. He said Frederick‘s leg “made contact” with the defender — Frederick’s leg wasn’t even close to making contact
if legs making [phanton] contact with defenders is now a penalized offense then they should just erase any existence of their league ever existing.

If like to see him, or someone like him, retire and issue a statement.

"The NFL is simply an illegitimate reflection of football today, and I can no longer particle in good conscience as a broadcaster or fan of the game."

For some people money is priority over character. They talk a lot but when it comes to actual decissions its where you see what their real intentions are. Aikman is no else.

Even if his leg would have touched, that wouldn't have been tripping but incidental contact. He was trying to keep his balence after getting bullrushed. You have to lift Ur leg to do this. Have someone Ur size hit U really hard , and see what you have to do to keep Ur balence. This isn't even close to being about tripping. No one stuck their foot out to trip anyone , not was this purposeful. This is balence control.

The FG at the end was the right decision? Had it been early in the 4th or prior to that I'd agree. But not with 6 minutes left with Dallas struggling to move the ball. It was a crap decision.

With these game conditions I'd rather have two chances to tie than one chance to win. Dallas still needed a TD even after making the FG but gave up field position and the 4th and 7 chance. NE then started at their 25 instead of their 12 had Dallas not converted. But at least they would have had a shot. They gave that up by kicking the FG which accomplished nothing.

I agree. When you are on the road playing a very good football team and you have a chance to tie it up late in the game you have to take that chance. If you don't convert you turn it over to the defense with your opponent backed up and hope they can get a stop.

When we kicked the FG I just thought "What does that do for us? We probably won't get back down there in this weather on the road."

And we didn't.

Today's game was he most animated I have ever heard Aikman advocating for the Cowboys. He really went at Periera on the last tripping call.

And thank you Troy for that. Pereira is an absolute shill for the refs and makes excuses for nearly every terrible call those clowns make. And Aikman was having nine of it on Sunday and called him on it.

Thanks Troy! We're not blind and we appreciate that you're not either and not another salesman trying to sell us a line of ********.
