Did Aikman also say he was a diamond playing next to trash when he left the Cowboys? He did not and would have gotten a standing O if he played against us.

I lived in South Florida from 99-02.

Jimmy gets crap for not winning there, but he left his best buddy Wannstedt with a great roster….minus the QB.

Big difference being stuck with not being able to replace the legend in Marino vs having Aikman in your lap when you take the job.

He built a great roster in both places. That’s the difference between great coaches and good ones…how lucky you are with your QB situation….even back then.

Wasn't that the team that spanked us good on Turkey Day that year?

Yea, won 40-21.
Gave Quincy fits most of the game.

Miami that year was a team with bipolar QB play.

That was Emmitt

I'm not buying this premise. I saw the punishment his brain took during his career. He was done when he retired. Several seasons removed, it's easy to say, "I was going to unretire", but I really don't think he had it in him. Ultimately, it didn't happen despite having the opportunity. The brain told the body, no.

Many players have trouble accepting that answer, though. They play until they have to be removed from the game and sometimes even try to continue after that point. It's tough to accept that it's time to hang 'em up.

That would have been like unretiring then retiring again. No way would he have accomplished anything but a concussion. Troy took too many hits to the head...
