He's the only owner that talks to the media constantly and if you choose to google it you will find quite a few interviews where he mentions all the talent. The spectacle signing a good for one year linebacker to the team this off season as if he's lebron james. The Ezekiel Elliott contract and the mess that was. Cowboys are a draw for ratings period. He does his job selling his team well. Not sure why that even needs to be said to a cowboy fan.
I rarely, if ever, listen to him and in the few instances I find myself enduring whatever nonsense is coming out his mouth, it never sells me on anything other than how woefully deficient the Cowboys are at GM. Small sample size but no one I know wastes time listening to him and are never "sold" by anything he says either. We're fans in spite of him but never because of him so thats why "it needs to be said to a Cowboy fan"
But if I understand you correctly, when you listen to jeri, you are swayed by whatever he says and perhaps go from being unsure about the team to optimistic solely because jeri "sold" you, is that right?
If so, thats fine and dandy with me, I've been wanting to chat with folks who hold this view because I've never met someone who feels this way.
Personally, I never get any comfort from anything he says so he's never sold me on jack squat. In fact, he's personally responsible for keeping me from spending potentially hundred's of thousands of dollars on this team over the last 25 years solely because of how he chooses to run the organization.
And signing players is merely the business of the NFL, its not selling anything. Fans may choose to get exited about a player because thats what fans do, not because jeri performed some magical voodoo sell on them.
The whole "jeri is a great marketer and salesman" is a farce imo because "selling" to us idiot Cowboy fans is like shooting fish in a barrel.
