this is way overdue. The Cards were a tough win when he was coach and we faced him twice a season.
His Chargers led the league in passing yards and total yards six consecutive years from 1978 to 1983
Changed the offense in the NFL from run to pass 1st
wish he went in when he was alive
one of the greats

list of just a part of coaches from Gillman tree that keeps producing great coaches-many in HOF

Al Davis
Chuck Noll
Chuck Knox
Air Coryell
Joe Gibbs
Dick Vermeil
George Allen
John Madden
Tony Dungy
Bill Walsh
Sam Wynch
Mike McCarthy
Jon Gruden
Andy Reid

As a HC he was good to very good; certainly not HOF material.
BUT one of the key criteria to making the HOF is to have changed the game. Don Coryell certainly did that and true this is LONG overdue.

yeh wait until the guy passes away ..before he's finally recognized as a true hall of fame ... ?
