How can you possibly know if BC can play or not? He's never gotten the chance. The only time he's had extended time was against Seattle, and he seemed to play pretty well to me.

How, exactly, does one produce in practice?

...a player player plays like he practices. Although we are not privy to the Cowboys practices and their coaching staff, there is a reason why he hasn't been able to crack the starting lineup under two different coaching regimes.

Neither Phillips nor Parcells are stupid coaches by any means. Carpenter's lack of playing time speaks volumes. It's not over for him yet, but he really isn't showing the promise that a first rounder should display.

That's not necessarily true. Derek Anderson couldn't win the starting job through training camp over Charlie Frye of all people. Now look at him. You always hear stories of players that practice poorly and take it to the next step in the game.

theo nailed it, but I would like to add that Wade has stated a couple of times in his PCs in regards to Romo, that some players can look good in practice, but not carry it over into games

and again, Wade likes to start vets, and so does Parcells

This is a silly argument since no one has proof either way, which is all some of us are trying to say. You can't proclaim a guy a bust because he isn't setting records in practice or preseason.

If we let Bobby leave Dallas without ever giving him extended, regular season reps, that will be a damn shame.
