Al Johnson

Pettiti struggled just like any first day rookie draft pick would have. He still contributed to our win. And he wasn't playing against scrubs either.

And...Oh yeah....he was a 6th round pick!

This kid has some terrific potential when you consider that his "problems" were much more mental than physical. He's picking up the mental part so fast that we are going to be able to really take advantage of his huge physical ceiling.

I love Pettiti. Growing pains for sure. But at the rate he's maturing, we may have solved out RT problems for a long, long time.

Rob is growing up fast......and guess what he's meeting the challenge. I'm so proud of that kid.

Me too, cbz. This is the 209th pick of last April's draft. He is growing and battling. The kid held his own.

It was great to see another late round Cowboy draftee (Crayton) make plays today as well. Those two did quite a bit in helping get this one today.

Great post. I thought the kid played well. He had to have some butterflies.

Actually I watched the whole game and never saw AJ out - anyone have minutes on both?
Real good question. Anyone have any idea where we can get that info?

So it appears that the Tuna might still know a thing or two about football, I wish the trolls here would respect that.

Yeah, I already posted it courtesy of tivo. It's not hard to see who's playing center, one guy is black and one is white. Just fire up the tivo and look at the gigantic arm holding the football before the snap, it's pretty easy to tell who's at center.

Gugode played from around 10 minutes left in the third quarter until roughly 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter. By my count that's 21 plays give or take that Gurode played center. So I'd say that Johnson played about twice as much as Gurode today.

By the time that Al came back in, a fresh Gurode had worn that NT down and AL finished him off.

That's how it should be. If we have two guys who can play the position, and we can swap them without any negative side effects, it only makes sense to do so. When Aikman pointed out that the Chargers were really sucking wind, that's the drive that we had put a FRESH Al Johnson back in the game. That's a huge advantage for us if we can do it every week.

LOL

He didn't sneak in. He played all the way through an 11 play drive that ended it a TD and another 10 play drive right after it. Only in your private world is that sneaking in. He played more than one quarter.

:lmao: I wouldn't expect anything less from Nors.

Thanks JD!

Lost in all of this was the point to Nors that Gurode has worth on this team. It was idiotic to think we should cut him and hand the job to AJ. I personally love the depth.

Anyone able to get a good look at Rivera. I saw him in the backfield a few times which bothered me. Hopefully it was just those few times.

Some credit needs to be given to SDs DL which I thought played very well. Not excusing our OL but their DL is much better than I have ever heard anyone report.

Don't look now, but Rivera got pushed around a little too...on one pass play, when everyone else was holding up pretty good, he was on skates as him man pushed him straight back into Bledsoe's lap for a big play.

I think Rivera is coming around. He didnt play much in preseason. I hope its just rust. I expect him to step up against the skins and not get pushed as much.
