."I think Kareem Jackson is almost as good as Kyle Wilson. [He] belongs in the top 25 picks and has a chance to make an immediate impact coming from Nick Saban and that defense," said Todd McShay, an ESPN draft analyst. "He might be the most underrated player in the entire draft right now.”

Jackson originally committed to Vanderbilt out of Westside-Macon. He was a NCAA academic qualifier, but the school wanted a higher aptitude test score.

He went to Fork Union Military Academy to work on his studies, but decided to enroll at Alabama instead of Vanderbilt. He was a running back in high school, but converted to cornerback while at Fork Union.

After the Crimson Tide won the national title, Jackson decided to enter the draft a year early -- against Saban's wishes.

"I had a couple of meetings with him," Jackson said. "He thought I should come back, but I was pretty confident in my decision and I stuck with it."

He played right cornerback in Alabama's 3-4 defense.

"We play the NFL-type defense," Jackson said. "It shows my mental capacity is maybe a lot stronger than some of the other players in the draft, as far as learning a defense."

He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds at the NFL scouting combine and has impressed teams during the interviewing process.

"I want to get better at everything I do; as far as my game [and] my technique," Jackson said. "But I think my physicality will help me a whole lot, at the line of scrimmage. We played a lot of press-man [coverage]."

Wouldn't mind seein him and Jenkins together for the next ten years

I would be happy with Jackson. He would be as safe of pick as you could make... He has already proven he can play an NFL scheme, and has faced top notch WR's this year.

Not to mention, anyone that can play for Nick Saban can play for my team....

This. Plus the guy is a good tackler. Typical fundamental Alabama player. Most of the Cowboys secondary cant tackle for beans.

I think this guy could be an option for Dallas, or he could potentially push someone like Kyle Wilson down to Dallas' spot.

This guy is pretty good, but watch out.

I don't think he's top 25 or a first rounder.

He will be over drafted.

He got torched in 2008 by Florida. He was picked on.

He got better in 2009.

Which guy are you getting?

I hope someone takes him before we pick, because that pushes someone else down.

I think he's a second round guy at most. JMO

I'd love to pick him up in the second. I like him, but I agree, not at pick 27

I was hoping that he could fly under the radar and maybe pick him in the 3rd since all of the other CB's were getting the pub. Well, I can throw that wish out the window. Another CB I was hoping to maybe get in the 6th rd was Kevin Thomas from USC but he is moving up the draft boards too because of his workout. Can't these guys just tank it so the Cowboys can get good value for them. I mean I understand that they would lose money but what about the fans's wishes. (sarcasm)

He is a second round pick although he could prove me wrong. He is fluid.
