I had and still have no problem letting Murray walk. RB is not worth his asking price. The problem was the Cowboys solution. McFadden, Randle, Dunbar wasn't close to an answer.

They can put out the Gurley, Yeldon, Rawls conjecture, but they failed to pull the trigger on any. Heck they traded back in to the 7th, to take the inactive for nearly every game Swaim. Rawls was there, but nope, they felt fine at RB.

Further, Langford and the kid from USC the Ravens took where available mid draft and they didn't bite. DUMB.

I wanted Langford bad in the 4th.

"The guy is a pro in his preparation and toughness and competitiveness," said one club source. "But he's also entitled, selfish and condescending. He's a great 'team' guy when he's the guy." Murray's reputation in Dallas was of a player who'd mope at times when things didn't go his way, which is part of what the Eagles have dealt with of late.

Yeah, I think we can see the negatives of Murray now.

Glad the Cowboys didn't resign him.

I'm glad they didn't take the bait either and resign him just had a conversation with a fellow Cowboys fan who felt the Cowboys should've kept him as I said to another poster in this thread DeMarco knew what he was was getting himself into when signed with Philly and now is seeing the consequences of his lack of a role in that Kelly offense as for Breer he's definitely a good sports journalist.

Freeman was there in the 4th. Wow so much talent at RB last year

Man, I can't express with English words how tired I am over the angst over the Dallas Cowboys RB position. It's almost completely a non-issue. Yes, they could have drafted a player who'd be an upgrade to the current DMC lead back. Yes, there are things they could and should be doing better on third-and-ones. But RB is so far down the list of problems for this team this year, it's not even funny. And it would be even further down the list if a guy they'd tabbed early to carry a large part of the load--Dunbar--hadn't been lost after 3 games.

The Murray Situation in PHI, though, is hilarious. I love that he's been marginalized about half way through his first season, and I love that he's handling that by going over the coach and to the owner. I hope that situation becomes a huge disaster for both parties, and I'm going to love it when it does.

I politely disagree.... Having that running game changed so much last year for other areas, for which we are exponentially exposed this year.

AND our record both past & present respectfully agrees

We are like a minor league system for TE's. They practice here and learn the craft and then go on to make pro bowls.

And when Witten retires id say the chances of having a suitable replacement are slim

I very much disagree with that.

Witten has been on a downward slide for a while now.

His blocking has gotten progressively worse, and it was never stellar. He's a penalty-waiting-to-happen and his run-after-catch skills (ahem).

The guy's an expert in finding soft spots in a zone defense and his hands are excellent. But those two rights are not making up for a whole bunch of wrongs at this point.

This season Witten is the 68th rated TE out of 72 rated on PFF.

That shouldn't be hard to improve on.

I agree. Besides this same running game would probably be top 3 or 4 instead of 9 with any sort of Serviceable passing game to take the pressure off of it.

Also thinking you are getting Gurley where they were selecting is yet another indication of how poorly they understand what the rest of the league is thinking regarding draft rankings.

A better RB is more of an icing on the cake issue. We have passing game issues mainly because of no Romo, partly because of a hampered Dez and more with poor play calling and unwillingness to create mismatches.

I do believe we can find a good zone RB in the 3rd or 4th round. A guy like Matt Jones would have been a nice pickup.
