Albright done for year

This sucks. I guess the silver lining would be he may not have made the team.

Sucks for the player but he was a poor fit in this defense

I loved the Holloman draft pick! He was by far my favorite draft pick. This kid is a player and I think in a year you will see just how good he is.

Holloman has some upside to him, Albright, not so much (pre-injury)...

So do we carry 6 LBs? Lee/Carter/Durant starters, McSurdy/Holloman/Sims reserves?

The Cowboys seem to have Magee ahead of McSurdy, but could be trying to just get a good look at the rookie.

This stinks for the player. He's a better fit for the 3-4, and was borderline for our roster, but it does take an option off the table for us here in preseason. I always liked him because he was so dang versatile.

darn that's too bad. the one thing he had going for him was he was a "swiss army knife" as the DC.com guys would say b/c he would have been a SAM, potentially line up as DE and he has been a key player on special teams. special teams is where his biggest impact has been. hopefully he can play again next year and this doesn't hurt his career outlook

Feel for him, seemed like a good kid, no trouble, showed up for work with nose to the grindstone. Wish him luck

Magee better than mcsurdy

You think so? I've been disappointed in Magee, and mildly surprised by McSurdy. Though I had zero expectations for McSurdy because I thought he was a better fit for the 3-4 last season and didn't do much before getting injured, then.
The coaches are obviously trying to find a spot for Magee, though. I haven't been impressed with him wherever he's been.

Clears up a little logjam at LB without hurting the team. I feel bad for him but another young player will get to stick around and try and develop.

Yeah, but unless they take the opinion that he just can't play (ala Jason Williams), I think they'll keep Magee based on what they saw him do in college, and the potential he showed, kinda like they did with Leary. Might just be thinking too much right now, and not using his instincts and reacting.
