ALCS Game 2 Thread

Like I said last night, the Rangers could be up 2-1 in the blink of an eye. Message to Yank starters: stop putting the team in early deep holes.

As for "bias," John Smoltz last night remarked, "Now we're going to get a pitching change to see if O'Day can HOPEFULLY stop the Yankees momentum." Kinda revealing if you ask me.

haha you may be right, I typically feel the announcer is pulling for the opposing team so that may be me. No matter what team they are pulling for though, they are sub par, Id prefer joe buck to this.

Great game from the Ranges. Way to bounce back!

One thing that I'm starting to feel 50/50 on is the Josh Hamilton situation. Looks like the Yankees are going to walk him with 1B open. The remedy to that is to switch Vlad and Cruz in the order. However I'm not sure if I oppose talking the bat our of Hammy's hands if it guarantees us a baserunner. Should be interesting to see how this plays out....

Geez if our bullpen didn't melt down last night we could and should be going into NY with a 2-0 series lead, with Cliff Lee on the mound to try and make it 3-0.....Hopefully that Game 1 was enough of a kick in the pants for us to get going again.

That wasn't bullpen meltdown more than Wash panicking and using too many pitchers during the 8th...

It should be 2-0...

I blame Cantu and Oliver more than I blame Ron Washington. If Cantu gets that ball to CJ faster or hauls butt to first instead of his casual stroll, CJ probably finishes that inning himself and none of it matters.

And if Oliver has any control at all...

Oh and Michael Young's 'ole' at third on that hard hit ball that would have been right at him if he didn't dance out of the way and try to wish it into his glove. Yeah, he might not have been able to get an out on that one, but he at least could have kept it in the infield.

There's a lot of blame to go around for that whole debacle.

If we look at the first two games of the series, we've outplayed them in both games. The Yanks got hot in the 8th in Game 1, but our starting pitchers have destroyed their starters in both games. I expected CJ to go out there with the effort he had, but I never expected Colby to be as good as he was. If Cliff Lee performs as expected and Tommy somehow finds his grove we should be able to make this one hell of a series. Should be 2-0.....

We better not see Cantu in the lineup from here on out....
Game 1: Cantu goes 0-3, Moreland pinch hits and goes 1-1
Game 2: Moreland goes 2-3, 1R, 1 RBI, 1BB......
Need I say more?

Cantu is such an easy out, Moreland provides some punch. As I said, Cantu better not be in the lineup from here on out.

And, the one out he did get at the plate was on a very well hit ball. Yup, Cantu had better have seen his last opportunity.

Yeah, that should be the end for Cantu. Honestly, the way he had been playing, I was surprised to see him on the playoff roster.
