I heard rumors Nolan Ryan can still put like high 80s on the gun.

I bet he could...

Still a badarse...

As likable as Nolan is / was - he was never a great pitcher, he was .500 a lot of years - he was the definition of a complier , he hung on far too long the man almost lost 300 games, 292 to be exact and all those years only won 324.

A Very good pitcher , great 7 times, a HOF'er yes , but partly do to legend.

Bitter Yankee tears are so delicious.

We've been here so many times that it's just another game - Cliff Lee will be in Pinstripes next year and all be right with the world again.

8 years 180M - welcome to the Bronx Cliff :lmao2: :lmao2:

I think Bengie is my favortie ranger after seeing his post game interviews, he is so in to it, he always gives 100%, he never looks for credit or the spotlight and he is so solid every game, whether working the opposing pitcher or giving our pitcher his all. Great guy, does not get nearly enough credit, imo.

IMO, one of the 10 most overrated athletes of the past 40 years

Ryan is the all-time leader in no-hitters with seven, three more than any other pitcher. He is tied with Bob Feller for most one-hitters, with 12. Ryan also pitched 18 two-hitters. He took 9 games as no-hitters into the ninth inning before surrendering a hit. He also had a five-hitter on Robin Ventura's face.

you couldn't win with 210 million dollars, what makes you think you can win with a 230+ million payroll? Suck it down, Yanqueens. Enjoy watching the World Series on TV!

No hitters quite honestly are becoming a Dime a Dozen, and Nolan hangs his hat on them - great.

However, for all his K's - he NEVER won a Cy young and only pitched 25 innings on the 69' Mets.

He never led his team to a WS he only won 20 games twice on 20 plus years pf pitching .

He's a legendary power pitcher but the near 300L's is a stain on his career.

Very good pitcher - not great - I can name 100 guys I'd want over him, easily.

Hughes and AJ were HUGE in winning the WS for us last year - post ASB Hughes was the best RHP outta the Pen.
