no, we let him walk, once again another proud mistake of our club. We have to draft a long term guy after Romo, and Tanney just doesnt have the time on his side for all that. When the next guy comes out, maybe one season, but as another poster said and i agree, this era the qbs have to go out onto the field almost immediately, none of this sitting around and i agree.

I'd definitely bring him back for a chance to compete at camp. He showed a little something while here and I think he might make a nice backup. I'd definitely like to keep him on the PS for the year.

And if Orton does retire, then Tanney would be nice in his place. Need 4 QBs in camp anyway to just throw the balls to the WRs in practice.

can he go the PS after being on an active roster ? And why would you put a back up on the PS and waste more time? What would you think the PS would offer him that time on teh field in a game wouldnt?

I don't understand your post. If you thought it was a mistake to let him walk then why would you be opposed to Dallas bringing him back? And Dallas didn't make a mistake letting Cleveland sign him off of their practice squad. They just didn't have the room to keep him due to numerous injuries. In order to have kept him then they would have needed to cut another player. With all the injuries they had they didn't have the luxury of just cutting someone at that time. That is the way it works sometime. Plus bringing him back now doesn't prevent Dallas from drafting a QB in the 2015 draft where there will be better prospects than were in this past draft.

I think Tanney would be eligible for the PS. Also, Romo admitted he wasn't ready his first year or two in the league. QBs need time to develop. And if Orton retires and Romo's back gets hurt again, we need someone to pull off the PS. So, just in case I'd definitely have one or two QBs on the PS this year.

where to begin. okay, Dallas hsould have kept tanney and never went the orton way, as you can tell it paid out of in dividens and we are riding that divsion champ , ooo wait. OKay that aside. Tanney is a year lost in a game that is shortening careers (see rbs), maximizing others, and bascially reverting to youth to compensate compared to the days of the vet coming in which isnt worth their price tags anymore.

IF Dallas had beleived in Tanney, which yes they should have sat him down and said we believe youd have a better career as a solid back up, things would have been better. But they let him walk instead of doing the correct thing, again see last season.

I dont want to bring him back now becaue that time has passed and now we have to look into the future and get the guy who can be here for years to come instead of praying one falls to us (yes Romo did and good thing Payton seen him for what he was).

The time has quickly passed. Gotta look for maxamizing the time. Tanney is a year late now.

Than go with Tanney as a back up and dump the rest, but explain to him his dreams of starting in the league are most likely over. UNless a team wants to chance an older guy instead of finding a younger one in the draft. Bottom line is, its not needed, or if you are going to do the shuffle, do it correctly.

Tanney time!!! Bring this kid back. He easily has an NFL caliber arm. Just needs to learn in the right environment in my opinion.

Tanney wasn't ready last year to be the #2 guy. Why go that direction if the guy isn't ready? He wasn't going to lead Dallas to a win over the Eagles. He was looked at as a potential long term project, not an immediate back up. Going with Orton was the right thing.

There is nothing wrong with bringing Tanney in now and there is also nothing wrong with not bringing him back. The whole "time has passed" doesn't make sense because if that is the case then they should get rid of Weeden and Hanie.

we should get rid of those two. Sorry, but the time has passed. Of course Orton was the right choice, but i knew Dallas would screw it up, hence us losing three times in one game and the better team moved on. Its not which was the correct qb. it was do you hang on to the talent and nuture it or, or pass on it for an older guy that you rae goign to waste his time but pay him for it? I would have prefered for Dalals to sit Alex down and do the right thing. Obviously they disagreed. The Eagles sent a thank you card.

Absolutely not, though I wish him the best. I just don't get the fascination with him, what has ever done besides that YouTube video to ever compete for a starting NFL job? I am very confused by the love he gets.

this i can agree with but i felt he did have some potential there, im not qb scout but i guessed on Romo and was right on Aikman, so that plus my crack jack certifictate makes me bona fide for the job.

The Eagles would have sent a thank you card if Tanney started that game. That game was irrelevant on what they chose to do with Tanney.
