That could be it... I wonder if that is at all fixable.

I wonder about the whole pass-catcher thing... He's not a fumbler... His hands aren't rocks. He's had 47 NFL catches and had 30 in college... Not sure what the issue is or was there no issue and they just took him off the field on passing downs.

47 catches over a 4 year span is pretty low. And yea they took him off the field a lot this year in passing situation, but that was not the case in 2012-2014, where they did not have Chris Thompson (injured) or Matt Jones (rookie).

I'd also not that in 2014, he had 5 fumbles...just was fortunate enough to only lose 1.

Just based off what I've seen, he lacks the quickness to be a real threat coming out the back field, so when you combine his drops to the equation, he just offers little as a receiver

I think it's the drops more than anything. He fumbles about 1 time for every 100 touches of the football... that's not extreme.

As far as quickness... Murray wasn't quick either.

I'm pretty meh on Morris, I've always liked him but I think its a lock the team drafts a RB this year. Hopefully Morris is the veteran leadership guy from the rookie and Dunbar, who rotates in to keep everyone fresh.

Didn't they have Helu as their third down back his first couple years?

yep Helu was the 3rd down and passing formation back. Also I think the read option stuff pretty much precluded him getting a lot of passes. Remember Bob Griffin 3 only averaged 200 yards passing a game his rookie year and the QB situation in washington was a mess 2nd and 3rd years.

Basically, they signed the complete and total opposite of Joseph Randle in every way.

Now if he only does to other defenses what he did to the Cowboys defense I love it.

A 2 RB set with DMC and Morris in the backfield may cause some defensive issues, alas, our offense isnt that creative.

He is quickly making a fan out of me. I love his attitude.
Too often, blokes, we forget the little people. I, too, sometimes forget the little people here, so props to all your little people who make my visits here special!

Yes, you are such a freakin giant. Thanks for the props, I am feeling so much bigger today.

This is 100% false. Not sure where you're getting that bad info from.

Alf is legit one of the good guys. He'll only be a positive addition to your locker room. He's just a quiet guy that goes about his business and goes home at the end of the day. Us Skins fans hate to see him go, especially to you all, but we are all happy that he's getting a chance somewhere else. He was phased out once Shanny left, but don't think for a second that he's worn down. He's better when he gets 20+ touches a game. I am not sure if he'll be the bell cow for the Cowboys, but if so, you got yourself a hell of a steal.

Welcome to the zone. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think this signing impacts whether we pick Elliott or not. If Elliott is the best player on our board, we're taking him.

This - just like the Robinson signing and the other signings - give us flexibility in the draft. You still take the best player available because Ramsey, Elliott, Bosa and Jack are more talented than any of our free agent signees.

Yeah, it pretty much does....I dont hate the guy, but I dont find one thing exciting about this signing or any of our rbs for that matter. I have no faith DMC can repeat last year. I wouldnt even call Morris insurance, simply another option. I really hope I am wrong....

I hope that is true, I was just repeating what I heard on the radio this AM. I think Fish even said the same thing this morning. Again, I have no idea. I like the signing and don't care how players treat the media.

I stopped reading your post as soon as you mentioned Cat Fish.

He is a good guy, and with our OL he should do ok.
Jerry says already that McF is the starter, so he will spell McF early on.

If Dallas' OL made a 1000-yard RB out of Darren McFadden, it could probably do the same with Alfred Morris.

I could even see a scenario whereby another RB might be taken in the draft. It'd constitute a real committee.

I agree with you on DMC. He stepped in nicely, but he's going to be a year older and if I recall correctly, he also went out of some offensive series in games last year because of "nagging" injuries. We can't rely on him as an every-down back, not through 16 games. I don't think he will last the season. But he can be a "spell" back, i.e., he can spell whoever we pick up in the draft (Elliott, Henry, or another) and give you fresh legs as a 10-carries type back and a receiving threat on third downs.
