All day game thread

We may be hurtling toward a Rust Belt-flavoured Bills/Lions Super Bowl. Which would be most entertaining, with the Bills having unsuccessfully competed there four times prior, and the Lions never having even sniffed the big game. Probably the two best teams in the League right now.
I'd be so down with that. A nice refreshing change.

What about Marino? You made an excuse for him that he didn’t have a defense and running game. His defenses weren’t terrible and he won a lot of games during the regular season. Mahomes got destroyed a few years ago against the Bucs in the SB when his team was being dominated. Peyton Manning had his issues winning in the playoffs for a number of years and never played well in the SB but his defense in Denver was dominant.
Marino got to a sb and won some playoff games. Look at some of the teams he lost to. The 84 niners. The 90s bills. Some really good teams.

Marino did play in a SB, so the comparison is off. Nobody could beat the 49ers in the late 80s.
Marino played 17 seasons and Jackson is 7 seasons into his career. Jackson has time. Marino was the only one to beat the 85 Bears and many thought he would beat the Niners in the SB.

Marino was the only one to beat the 85 Bears then ended up losing to NE in the playoffs. He had his struggles in the playoffs.

We get possible preview in two weeks

I think, at least right now, Allen and Jackson are MVP front-runners

In no way did Josh Allen catch a TD "pass" tonight. WTH are these people talking about?

It would be hilarious if DAL finishes with the same record as SF because DAL would get the higher draft pick.

for some reason that would make me happy

He’s like the fifth or sixth guy to get credited for a passing TD and rushing TD on the same play.

The Trevor Lawrence injury hit in the Texans game points out how dangerous a QB health becomes when he gives himself up sliding . The defender flying in from the opposite direction is headed straight for you while you’ve given up your body in a defenseless slide.

In trying to make the game safer for the QB the NFL is making things dangerous .
