Smartly you waited to post this until you were sure we were dead. We beat ourselves -Randy Johnson choking - errors in Game two and tonite two idiots colliding - like idiots.
We didn't deserve it.

The Yankmees don't deserve anything... they are, year in and year out, the best team money can buy... when they DO win the World Series, they don't deserve plaudits, when you can buy more talent than anybody else you SHOULD win it all consistently...

That's what makes it so very comical when they DON'T win it all...

Until MLB recognizes that their game is flawed by their approach to controlling salaries, baseball will be an inferior game, when compared to other sports... though I join most folks in here in hating the salary cap in football, I'd purely love to see how much success the Yankmees would have if they had to play on a level playing field, if they couldn't spend any more money than anybody else...

HaHa, never played baseball I see. I'd love to see you try to make that play.

All the Yankees success' were before they went on their spending sprees. Aside from the few exceptions (Clemens, Cone, Wells), their talent on those WS teams were home grown (Jeter, Williams, Rivera, Pettitte, etc) and smart and cheap FA acquisitions that anybody could've made (Brosius, Nelson, Stanton, etc). Yes, some of their key players were expensive FA's, but it wasn't quite as ridiculous as now.

Since them, the Mets, and BoSox have started signing every FA possible, the Yankees haven't won a WS.

BTW, this is the best month in sports, IMO. While I do prefer the NFL to the MLB and love NFL play-offs, the combination of MLB play-offs and the NFL being in full swing makes it the best month for me.

Only thing worse then the season ending early for the Sox is having to watch the Payrod and the Yankmee's advance.

Oh well back to reading "Idiot" then maybe "Now I Can Die in Peace" before we pack all the books for the move

I agree... carrying 200+ million around in your baseball pants makes it difficult to make plays...

The Yankees and the Red Sox have the highest pay rolls and are not both sitting at home. I think the difference will be that the Yankees solution will be to spend even more money next season.

Either that or head for the cellar... they traded away all of their farm talent... the cupboards are bare...

To the victor the spoiles, I suppose.

I like the Yankees. Sorry they lost last night but in the end, I have felt like the Cards would win it all in any case. I guess we will see.

Good luck to those left.

:laugh1: It sure is. Who are you rooting for. I'm kinda going for the White Sox. I think them winning would be pure torture for the Cubs fans. :D

I've never really had 1 team. I was a huge Nolan Ryan fan so I loved whoever he played for. Once he retired I decided to do the right thing and root for NL teams. I don't like the DH at all. It's not baseball. The rules of baseball say 9 men, not 10. It helped that we got a team out here.

My team isn't in it so I don't have a true horse in the race, but I'll root for the NL to win it all.

I will probably root for the Cardinals because they have the least amount of ex-Yankees, who are without a doubt the team I love seeing lose.

White Sox stole one tonight and I mean stole. They do Spring Training here in Tucson and I've met some of their players. I'd like to see them get there.

Once the Yankess lost and the Braves lost I knew all was right in the world of baseball.
