Had a heated conversation with the vice principal at my daughter school (she goes to a private school). It got so heated he walked away from me and said I was raising his blood pressure. Anyway he says the reason we are 1-3 because of Jerry. He won't hire coaches that will take leadership. My argument was yes Jerry like control, what man don't. I don't see no one taking leadership on the field even if it means a player. I see a lot players take it upon themselves to do that on field whether the coaches do it or not on other teams and sports.

He said players can't because Jerry wouldn't allow it. I disagree. Jerry is not actually playing game on the field. At some point as man you would think you would take accountability for yourself without a coach or owner.

Example of leadership on other teams Ray Lewis, Manning and even in other sports Kobe of the Lakers.

Does anyone think it is all Jerry or kind of see my point? I'm not good with long posts so I hope I got my point across.

They both play a role but even if Jerry was doing everything perfectly, players have to execute.

The question in my mind is has Jerry set this organization up in the best way possible to have success on the field?

I have my opinion and others have theirs, don't expect unanimous agreement on this subject

Two grown men, a dad and a vice principal, getting in a heated conversation about the Cowboys at your kids' school=priceless!

There's enough blame to go around for everyone, including Jerry, but I wouldn't say it's all on him.

That's the million dollar question.

My answer is no.

Except we don't get emotional like you wimmen.

The vice principal was a man. There was no dad. He was the one that walked away from me. So who got emotional. Never once have you seen me post nothing emotional.

Avaj, I feel your pain. I think that is the dumbest excuse for what is wrong I have ever heard, but people actually do believe it and are passionate about it.

I will never understand it because it is so beyond silly to me. I actually got told we need a mission statement.

"Commitment to Excellence" has worked so well.

Whether anyone wants to admit it or not NFL Franchises are not corporations in the same sense as the corporate world. Corporations are about making money and the Cowboys do that better than anyone ever has.

Money does not equal winning football. That still has to be handled on the field and we haven't done that.

I blame big dog cowboy cuz he went to the game last week... Should've stayed his butt in Kansas.

Are you referring to me? If you are, that's not what I said.

I didn't tell you we needed a mission statement, I was expressing my confusion over what appears to me to be a lack of direction, What I actually wrote is:

"If the Cowboys have a mission statement for the organization, I would love to know what it is. I get the feeling there isn't one."

Whatever you want to call it, I don't care. I was attempting to express my confusion over what the Cowboys are currently all about, Jerry used to make it very clear, now he talks in circles:

The problem I have with you Hos is that you're strident in your posts, dismissive of people whose opinions differ from you're own and you speak all too often in absolutes.

I don't care how long you've watched, played, coached, etc, you will never be omniscient and as a result you're opinions and beliefs are subject to being flawed (as are mine and everyone else's). So I believe a little humility should be mixed into anyone's posts (and that includes me).

If you can prove you're omniscient, then by all means do, I'll be happy to sit at your feet and listen to you pontificate about all things.

Better yet, lets go to Vegas and get rich, I'll buy!

Avaj, you go Lady. No problem with how you presented the question. No, it all isn't an ego failure by Jerry. That someone in the education field would infer such, should ease your feelings for having felt frustrated some yourself. He should have himself arrived at a more evaluation centered resolution as an education would develop. That he lost his cool, might also mean that he doesn't like the Cowboys or even is someone who embraces privilege at someone else's disadvantage.

Perhaps you should further point out the awards that Jerry has been extended by the Economic Regions of that area for his achievements in and around the new stadium. You might also tell him that his players, with the club or no longer with them, have given him high marks for giving for the good of the team and his players as well. I hardly would believe that this would then mean that everyone but Jerry would then be the fool, as well.

Sorry for some fans, even if connected with schools, are jerks for trying to insult your right to support a team without prejudice and insult. A couple of associations that have no part in a communication with one of their student's Parent. Good luck with your child as well....:starspin

Of course it not ALL Jerry.

BUT if Jerry would do some things differently, he could hoist the trophy and say whatever he wants "we did it our way baby", "anybody could coach this team" etc... AFTER....

When you're the leader, even if it's not your fault...it's still your fault.

I generally stick up for Jerry.

My issue with the anti-Jerry crowd is that they are more interested in being fans of ripping Jerry than they are into being fans of the team.

There's nothing wrong with criticizing Jerry. But when the team doesn't reach absolute perfection and does pretty well, they still can't and will not give him any credit for success.

There is no doubt in my mind that the anti-Jerry crowd will never give him credit until he wins a Super Bowl. The Cowboys could go to the Super Bowl, lose by a point on a lucky play and a horrible call and they will still rip into Jerry.

But, I do feel Jerry is to blame here.

He's the one who hires the coaching staff.

He's the one who picks the players.

The problem is that when the Cowboys fail, he's immediately branded the 'worst owner in the NFL' and 'worst GM in the NFL.'

I find those unbelievably untrue.

And that ticks off the pro-Jerry crowd.

And then the conflict starts. I'll stick up for the pro-Jerry crowd because they are fans of the team whereas the Jerry haters are fans of hating on Jerry and that's the main reason they follow the team, so they get their digs into Jerry when he fails.

But, when they fail like they are doing now, he deserves blame.

What frustrates me the most is the team was really focused, not buying into their hype and Wade was tough on these guys in '09. Why? Because they were un-focused, bought into their hype and Wade was soft on them in '08. But instead of doing what worked for them in '09, they revert back to their old ways.

They are a bunch of C- guys....doing just enough to get the critics off their back, then it's business as usual. And we are always going to have a C- guy team. The key is finding an A+ coach to get the most of these guys and not allow them to lose focus at the task at hand, ever.

The issue I have with Jerry is that he paraded his football team all across the country during the preseason and never gave them a break - thus leading to a vast lack of continuity.

And at 1-3, it shows.
