1. Leighton Vander Esch - B. Not a huge value, but he's a good player at a position of need. I actually think he's more of a Will than an MLB, and his potential going from sideline to sideline and covering is scary. I heard one guy comp him to Chad Greenway and I like that comparison.
2. Connor Williams - A. The more I watch this guy, the more I like him. Awesome lateral agility, and should be a day 1 starter in our ZBS. He does get beat in pass protection, but some of those issues (he gets beat a lot by length) should be mitigated by playing guard. In a draft thin on starting lineman, we stayed put and were able to get our man.
3. Michael Gallup - A. Dude has the talent to play inside or outside and does a good job separating. Our WR situation is clear as mud right now, but I could see him starting as soon as this year.
4. Dorance Armstrong - D. I just don't get it. A small, slow edge rusher best known for his production a in 2016. We've got a crowded DE meeting room, with Tapper and Ealy basically competing for the exact same role that Armstrong is. And if you want a DE, why not get Josh Sweat?
4. Dalton Schultz - C. I understand this pick - we just lost our top 2 TEs and Stanford tight ends come into the league ready to play. But what do he do that Geoff Swaim doesn't?
5. Mike White - B. At this point, the draft board was pretty much wiped out, so I'm not going to trash the team for taking whoever. White has the talent to make it as a backup, and failing to develop backups was one of the big things that screwed us in the Romo era. Thank God we got Dak.
6. Chris Covington - C. Marinelli definitely likes his Big 10 Wills. We needed a backup LB and took a guy with NFL-caliber measurables. Whatever.
7. Cedrick Wilson - A. I could have seen this guy going in the fourth round. He's got legit outside receiver potential. Kind of like Xavier Woods last year, I think his draft spot belies his actual talent.
7. Bo Scarborough - A. He kind of reminds me of a poor man's Derrick Henry, having maybe 75% of the talent but costing a billionth of the draft capital. If he makes the team, he'll grind inside for dirt cheap.
