And I don’t understand why we took a James Hanna replacement over Maurice Hurst.

Overall grade .... B+, with upside potential

Something I think is worth noting is that even the very late picks like Scarborough and Wilson have a very real chance to make the team and be contributing players. How many times have we been able to say that?

Armstrong was the only pick I flat didn’t like. I didn’t see the point of an undersized DE with no better than average speed. I know some don’t like the Covington pick, but that late in the draft odds are long for any player, so why not take a shot on a guy that is raw but has all the measurable?

I’m gonna go with an A-

First three picks was great... hit needs with good talent...

Everything after that was kinda wishy washy... the DE is like tapper “untapped potential” Rods favorite for a middle round pick... TE was a natural selection given our situation... QB was a surprise but if you hit could net you a nice trade in the future... no comment on the LB or the WR from Boise as I’ve admittingly haven’t seen any tapes let alone highlights

At the moment we are replacing both Hanna and Witten. Schultz isn’t the ultimate answer - won’t be a standout - but he should be a solid all around TE that will help immediately

I'm very happy with draft, overall. I give it an A- right now. Way too many bad grades on Armstrong. The kid quickness & bend. Super DE Bradley Chubb ran the 20-yard shuttle, (the one that tests your ability to cut & change direction, start & stop), in 4.41, which is very good for someone 6-4, 270. Armstrong, who is 6-4, 257, ran his in 4.23. For reference, CB Quenton Meeks ran the same time at 6-1, 210. Put on his 2016 highlights, & you see the quickness, bend, & acceleration the Boys saw. I give that pick, where they took him in the 4th round, a B for now. With 34 3/4' arms & 10" hands, he's got great length to keep O-linemen at bay. Give him a chance to get bigger & stronger in our S&C program for a year. I have zero belief that Gregory will get his act together, & we need someone else to depend on to rush the passer.

I'll be honest, I kind of side stepped that one cause I don't know what to think. I've had a man crush on Austin as a player for a long time, I think he's a really talented dude that just got screwed over by Jeff Fisher, and I think he can be our new Lance Dunbar and our new Lucky Whitehead right away. The problem is that I don't know if I want to take on a $5 million contract for a bit player. I mean, $6 million a year got us Allen Hurns.

I think he will also have a big impact on special teams. That will make it a little easier to stomach that contract.

I can't grade what I can't see yet but I am giving them a B for addressing the needs and holes. They had the draft capital to move up to address LB and TE and I would have given them an A. They did get a player that can play and is an upgrade in a trade so that was good use of a draft pick.

So how many of these draftees will be active in the first real game? How many will be a in a starter role? How many will even be on the roster?

The most curious move was the trade for Austin. Since when has Linehan shown he can use a multi weapon type player like this? I like the player and feel he has always been underutilized because he has moves and speed.

The most intriguing pick was Gallup, a player begging for a nickname and Chris Berman probably winced when he saw this natural nickname show up. Where was he when I was doing the job? The WR corps is wide open and Gallup could not be coming into a better situation to be successful.

This entire receiving corps, including the TE's, is quite a mystery at how it's going to flesh out, I actually feel not having a clear cut #1WR will benefit Dak and his progressions. I do think he will miss Witten more than Bryant but it is time to move on because throwing short won't get it done, better to have Dak take off running than those dump passes.

Draft feels more like a B or B- overall to me.None of the picks were really homeruns, with one being a potential steal.

1. A for the player, A for the selection
2, A and A
3. B and C but can upgrade once I think about it and see him in TC
4. C and F
4. B and D
5. C and C, was a D, at first didn’t like the pick, but the old theory of drafting a QB every year may apply here
6. A for the trade to get Austin.
6. C and B, becasue we needed LB depth
6. B and D becasue we did not need to go WR
7. B and C as not sure we needed to go RB and offense yet again. But then again who else was there to get.

Also an A for the trade of Switzer for Ward. Not sure if it was good or bad, but we got rid of an over abundance of a WR for a much needed DT.

Over all for the draft C.

Ok, so WHO is going to be our return man? The Switz move was plain *** stupid. The clapping moron and his vanilla OC never used this kid to his potential...just iurger for a 4th rounder... ignorance on all sides. We got a nothing burger for a 4th rndr... great draft JJ you idiot.

Which one? Scarborough? I was floored when I saw his name pop up and just assumed he was long gone as I wasn't watching past Friday night. I don't know what teams don't like about him. 1st day pick? No but that OL he ran behind, including the TE, couldn't carry the jock straps of the one Henry had.

That's a pretty heavy put down, the RB of the national champs going that late, hope he comes with a lot of attitude.

No. Connor Williams is the steal I was thinking of. Bo Scarborough is just a whatever pick. I know a lot of 'bama fans and none of them are very high on him.

Love how some of you guys give a pick the grade of D or F because you haven't scouted him or know his name....... Haha that has to be the most silly reasoning I have ever heard.

The pick or the player...a player can be good, but if the pick is not what is the best, then maybe that needs to be taken into consideration.

Like Armstrong, he may be a good player, and a value with the pick. But was there a S or Dt there we could have taken that would help the team before another DE.
so to me, I will grade the pick lower than the player. if any of that makes sense.
Not saying one is right in doing that, but could be behind ones thinking.

Thompson returned a KO for a TD against the Cowboys while with the Ravens.

ok whatever dude, that is your opinion, so I won't try to convince you otherwise. We will just see what happens in TC had who emerges.
not going to get in an argument over it. I had enough of that with a few goofballs on draft day. Had to put them on ignore from there whiny insults.
anyway, if that is how you feel so be it, as I am sure they have a plan, so will wait and see. all I know that whoever is the return guy can't be any worse than Switzer and his gambling ways.
