Overall Draft.....C
Too much variance in players picked in top 3.
1 -- could be Bobby Carpenter or could be Brian Urlacher. So D or A+ = B
2 -- could not convert to G or could convert easily. So C or A = B+
3 -- could not get separation or could be Jerry Rice. Right now 4th WR at best. So F or A+ = C+
4 -- Come on might be an avg DE...great motor... but so did dozens others over the years.= C-
4B-- OK, I guess...most likely 3rd or 4th TE might develop someday, can't say he is better now than Jarwin, or Swaim, and who knows about Rico so he might not make the team. Probably not on the team if/when Garrett/Linehan leave.
5-- backup QB this early....looks like they ran out of people they were interested in. Hopefully someone is correct here. Not likely.
6 -- No instincts.......hopefully special teams, but most likely late cut. PS for now.
7-- another WR that is most likely a PS player for now.
7 -- RB---3D specialist, but might make the team IF they actually decide to use him and not tear down EE.

IMO, this could be a draft that goes to an A or could be a draft that is a total Failure.

They drafted some nice upside guys, but the base is way down on lots of these players as well.

I think when looking at each of these players Dallas was able to draft them where most expected them to go within the draft, I don't see where Dallas reached on any of these guys. How they turn out is anyone guess.

1. Leighton Vander Esch - B. Not a huge value, but he's a good player at a position of need. I actually think he's more of a Will than an MLB, and his potential going from sideline to sideline and covering is scary. I heard one guy comp him to Chad Greenway and I like that comparison.

If Vander Esch's strengths are going from sideline to sideline and covering as you say, which I agree with, doesn't it make sense for him to play the Mike?

The pick or the player...a player can be good, but if the pick is not what is the best, then maybe that needs to be taken into consideration.

Like Armstrong, he may be a good player, and a value with the pick. But was there a S or Dt there we could have taken that would help the team before another DE.
so to me, I will grade the pick lower than the player. if any of that makes sense.
Not saying one is right in doing that, but could be behind ones thinking.
I disagree. If someone hasn't scouted the player how in the world can they give them a D or F.

We need football players period. They looked at drafting a safety but the value wasnt there like a pass rusher or elite OL is on the board and a much better player you take him. You go reaching for a guy just because you think you need him isn't a great way to draft. We don't know they might trade for a safety or sign a guy. Richards has enough background to know what players he needs to make a great passing defense. That's a different topic though
