Garrett didn't use Felix Jones in the Commanders loss last year. He is forever branded.

Course, those same people fail to bring up that one of the reasons he didnt get any touches was because they were force feeding a certain demanding WR, who was targeted like 22 times or something during that game, even though he was double and sometimes triple covered.

Thats why I have contended all offseason the offense will be greatly improved by subtracting TO, because it will make us less predictable and more varied.

It isnt like they havent tried any deep balls or run some longer routes. They went deep to Austin early vs Oakland and Austin had a step, but Romo had to hurry the throw. Austin was wide open deep vs Tenn the other night but Kitna overthrew him. I believe Romo tried a deeper route to RW vs Tenn as well, but the ball was out of bounds and it appeared the Tenn DB was guilty of illegal contact or PI too.

Yep. Roy had a step on Finnegan.

Also Sam Hurd ran a nice deep route to blow by the db in the Oakland scrimmage but Kitna didn't put the ball on the money and his pass actually allowed the safety to get back into the play.

People are forgetting about Marty B too. We haven't unleashed that guy yet.

I can't wait until the regular season so I can see all the formations this team are going to run.

Marty B definetely won't be lined up @ TE all the time.

And Barber and Felix won't be seperated on the field all the time either.

Also... shhhhh.... Im betting all those reverses to Crayton are to set something up in the reg season.

Peyton did everything he could to lose in the playoffs that year.

His defense bailed him out that entire post season.

This.

I remember watching the Colts that year. Peyton was terrible.

Yes, but the double speak is that he was our only playmaker and many of those targeted throws were not catchable.

It's a catch 22. Either Garrett doesn't know how to use people or he uses them too much. The guy will never satisfy some of these fans. It cannot be done.

There has never been a offensive coordinator in the history of the Cowboys that the fans haven't questioned the playcalling.

Cowboy fan looooooooves to pick on the playcallers.

David is a smart fellow and is a couple steps ahead of me.

Never give me an absolute.

Tom Landry was his own OC for 27 years of his 29 years.

Fans love to "Monday morning quarterback" and sportswriters need something to write about.

Nothing new here.

We regularly thrown the ball 20 plus yards down the field. Isn't that long ball enough?

The Al Davis form of offense went out in the 70s.

You really don't need to throw the ball 40 yards down the field anyway.

A "long ball" offense is really overrated anyway, whatever "long ball" is suppose to mean.

I didn't take the time to read the responses, so forgive me if this is a retread, but logic dictates if you have a quick scoring offense, the long ball typically being the primary weapon, you had better have a very conditioned defense, because they are going to see alot of playing time. That can hurt a team at the end of games, and more importantly, at the end of the season.

the long passes will come soon. but chewing up the clock and constantly getting 1st downs does so many good things. Keith Bullock(Titans LB) said it was frustrating how we just kept getting 1st downs. when defenses start getting frustrated they're more prone to making mistakes.

Anyone worried about our long ball abilities must not have ever watched Roy Williams at Texas. He was the best long ball receiver they ever had.
