That is a valid point however I would call it the Cowboys effect, Since the rise of the Cowboys in the 60s all the mediocre teams have given the Cowboys their best. In the years the Cowboys were mediocre as well it mostly resulted in loses, in the years when the Cowboys were good those teams which beat us or even played a very competitive game would say, hey at least we played well against the Cowboys.

I do think many fans have forgotten or are to young to remember those days, but the fact is to many teams beating the Cowboys is as good as it gets. Combine that with a team that has some talent and whose season is on the line like Detroit yesterday and you get the kind of game we all witnessed.

One thing I know for certain is those all out games from opponents are going to get more frequent, I think fans should understand that. We won't be sneaking up on any teams from here on out. And I also think the coaches need to play it as such and leave something in the bag for the playoffs. That's where we need to show everything we have in our playbook not before. IMO blowouts mean nothing until the playoffs start, play to win but keep it conservative is OK with me.

Excellent post.

When the networks pay what they are paying for the games, they want points.

I don't mind a good 14-10 or 17-14 game, but many now want a ton of points.

It seems the Pats defense comes up with more big plays at crucial times in the game than Dallas defense. Now the offense in Big D comes up with game breaking plays all the time when it counts.

I do not trust this defense against a good team when it comes to crunch time period end of story.

Now Romo and the offense I do not even blink when it comes time for a big play I just expect it to happen

You make a good point, no one in the playoffs has a scary defense. NE is a giant over the horizon that makes us all nervous given the way the secondary has played. That said your right, they arent any better equipped to stop us, then we are to stop them.

The NFL is set up to be a offensive friendly league. No way around it. Just hope you get some turnovers and your offense can keep up.

Green Bay, you mean the team we cut through the Germans against the
French in May 1940?

Troy was 1 of the 2 reasons why they lost to the Jets (other being their OL was gashed)

I love all the people who say stuff about our D but we probably have one of the better D's in the league. I mean the only reason they don't look so good on paper is because teams have to try to keep up with our O and that causes them to play more agressive. As for who has a good D? No one realy I mean Bears, Dolphins, Ravens, Giants, Packers and Eagles where supposed to have the best but we lit 5 out of 6 of them up so you tell me.
