If you were the Dallas Cowboys would you make a push to sign him away from Jacksonville if they choose not to tag him? Of course I realize he's coming off an ACL injury but with the advancements in sports medicine, that really isn't a big issue in my opinion compared to an Achilles injury. The talent is certainly there and the kid is a good route runner.

Thoughts?

With what money?

I think most people expect him to be tagged...but if he isn't, he is going to be expensive

I disagree with the term "potential UFA WR", Jacksonville is in fine cap shape, he's their best receiver, and they're not afraid to spend big money.

I feel that there is no chance that Robinson is ever available.

I wouldn't mind it but I think Jax overpays as they have done the past 5 seasons.

Him and Lee are both UFAs.

They also drafted Dede Westbrook and have some guys that flashed in Mickens who are still signed past next year on, along with Allen Hurns. Be curious to see how they approach this offseason. Blake Bortles will count 19mil against the cap, but zero of it is guaranteed. As of now, they have 16mil in cap space, not factoring in a jump iirc.
So, one of Lee or Robinson should hit the market IMO

And I'm holding out hope it's Robinson lol.

Had enough of bringing in injured or recovering from injury players.

No thanks.

And he's a pretty good receiver, but the Cowboys' problem isn't players, it's coaching for the most part.

Just don't see he'd be a significant upgrade over who we have now, some, yes, but not worth what it would take to sign him....

I'd take the shot but what type of money are we talking? I have a feeling his biggest suitor will be the Jags. They are going to overpay him.

Robinson is considered a no. 1 receiver, who would he replace? Dez? Oh great, let's dump a bunch more dead money on the Cowboys, yeah that has worked well in the past, hasn't it? Williams? So Robinson would accept a demotion to play no. 2 in Dallas?

Cowboys do not have the cap space to grab a top free agent anyway...

the only thing for certain is our current #1 wr is no longer at the top of his game and costs far too much. we need someone to replace him. financially, the only thing that seems to make sense is to release him and use the money in other ways.

If Dallas "dumps" Dez they'll save almost $9 million if done after June 1st.

Robinson was abysmal in 2016. I had him on my fantasy team just horrible. Now he is coming off injury in a bounce back yr he did not do so hot in. I think if he does hit free agency that he won't cost too too much like Landry. Whose starting asking price is 13.8m
