Almost no harm done

I know a lot of us are sore after our loss to Buffalo. However, almost no harm was done. The Eagles loss to the Seahawks last night means that if we can win the remainder of our games, and, if Tommy DeVito is playing and can lead the Giants to beating Philly at least once, we might be back in the division race. Somehow, the Giants are still in contention for a playoff spot (https://www.foxsports.com/articles/...e Giants have a 0.2,of earning a playoff spot.), albeit not very high. We were probably going to need the Giants to win one against Philly regardless of how the game against the Bills finished in case we dropped one. Let's face it, starting with the start of the Cowboys win streak, we were asking the Cowboys to win 9 consecutive games and still need a bit of help. Naturally, this is the NFL, and winning 9 games in a row is especially difficult.

If the Cowboys can beat the Dolphins, who knows? Maybe the Cowboys can start another winning streak? Especially with the Lions (as good as they are) at home, where we dominate this season, and the Commanders at the end of the season, I don't think this season is over yet. Especially since Philly seems to be floundering a bit. So, as bad as the loss to the Bills was, this division race is far from over.

I predicted correctly that we would lose in Buffalo BUT the Eagles would also lose. That came to pass last night. I said everything essentially would remain the same heading into the Miami game with yet another opportunity for us to take the division and put pressure on Philly. The Eagles are crumbling under said pressure because they are learning what that is like. Its daunting. Question now becomes, can we TCB in Miami, and second, will Philly lose 1 more game? Should get very interesting.

I disagree. You got the help you needed, but failed to capitalize. Now we have one less chance to close the gap.

We couldn't have known what the Eagles were going to do, and, as I stated, we likely were going to need the Giants help too as winning 9 back to back games is tough (plus a few more for the playoffs). So, I expected Dallas to lose one down the stretch because it's the NFL. So, considering we were probably going to lose one of the games down the stretch, then we were probably needing both the Seahawks and one of the Giants games to result in Eagles losses. Hence why I said that, as far as I'm concerned, almost no harm was done.

Neither may be for real; I’m not convinced either team could go on the road and beat the nfcs team they have to play. At home yes but road wise no.

Let's be honest, I don't think anyone is beating SFO this year, unless someone manages to get a home game against them this year. Unfortunately, I think they're too powerful if they're healthy. However, if we want any chance at beating them some how, we need the 2nd seed.

I also disagree. But a different reason. We just showed the world we're patsies.

If you play strong and lose....that's one thing. But when your best play is your offensive linemen decking a LBer, you have nothing. Zero.

Well, by almost, I meant the fact we got blown out, but, the question is, how will the Cowboys respond? If they come back against Miami with a win, then no harm done.

Yeah my feeling as well, there might be a one in ten chance for any other nfc team to beat them in SF when they are healthy…and that’s just bc crazy stuff can happen

True, and it just takes one. But, if we are to have any chance at beating them, then we will need a home game or two in the playoffs leading up to that to try to give ourselves as much momentum as we can. Otherwise, I think it'll just be a repeat of the regular season game with them.

We are frauds just like the Eagles.

Go us!

We are a good team, and games like this can happen. However, as I stated, the 49ers are probably the only elite team this year. I hate it because I don't want them passing us on Lombardi count. However, I think our luck with that runs out this year. When they're at full strength, they're practically unbeatable this year. I think we are the second best team in the NFC, but, unless Jerry gets Suh, I don't think we are catching SFO. In most years, our record would be good enough to get us the 1 seed outright.....except for the fact that the 49ers are the way they are this year.

If I'm not mistaken, the Eagles loss to the Seahawks allows the Cowboys to lose to Miami. Dallas needs the Eagles to lose another game whether we beat the Dolphins or not.

If the Eagles drop one to the Giants, and Dallas loses to Miami, Dallas wins the division. But in this scenario, if the Eagles lose to the Cardinals, they still win the division.

I think you'd be right, but we need them to lose to the Giants at least once because that'd give us the division tiebreaker.

Well, first off… only once in the past decade has a 4 loss or worse team gotten the #1 seed in the NFC. So, no, most years our record would not be good enough.

Second, you’re right about San Fran. They're the only for real team in the NFC this year.

Third, none if this really matters in the end as the Cowboys can’t beat good competition on the road and I’m not even confident they could do it at home either with the way they get ran on.

So, at the end of the day, this season will end just like every other Cowboys playoff as most of us have said all season long.
