Jamison Headed To The Cavs

Cleveland, Washington and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a three-team deal that will land Antawn Jamison with the Cavaliers as LeBron James' new sidekick instead of Amare Stoudemire, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that the deal will also send Zydrunas Ilgauskas' $11.5 million expiring contract and a first-round draft pick from Cleveland to Washington.
The deal also calls for the Wizards to receive Al Thornton from the Clippers, sources said, with L.A. getting forward Drew Gooden, whom Washington acquired in last week's trade with Dallas.
Besides Jamison, Cleveland will also acquire Clippers guard Sebastian Telfair.
Jamison left the arena in Washington before the Wizards' game against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.
After long-running trade talks with Washington and Phoenix, Cleveland opted for the Jamison deal, leaving the Miami Heat as the only known suitor for Stoudemire in advance of Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline.
The Cavs have been chasing Jamison since last season and ultimately preferred this trade in part because they did not have to surrender blossoming young forward J.J. Hickson. The Suns were demanding Hickson along with Ilgauskas' expiring salary for Stoudemire.
Washington relented on its insistence for Hickson because the trade brings more deck-clearing payroll and luxury-tax relief after last week's deal with Dallas that sent Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas.

Ilgauskas and a 32 overall for Jamison!!!???

BYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

This is just absolutly disgusting. I would take Jamison AND Hickson over just Amare. The depth is just not even fair to the rest of the league.

Oh your tired Jamison? Parker go check in.

Oh your tired Parker? Moon go check in.

Oh your tired Mo? Gibson go check in

Oh your tired Gibson? West go check in.

It never ends.

Dude you should be ****ting your pants. We got to keep Hickson AND pick up Jamison.

The length of the Cavaliers now match up with anyone. The Lakers are ****ed now.

Chuckle... you roll with the punches well, Slate... never mind that you started this thread telling us that Amar'e to the Cavs was a "done deal", and your "done deal" didn't happen...

Seems you had a case of premature posting yesterday... :D

As a Wizards fan, at least they got ONE player they'll probably keep past this year... they apparently wanted Al Thornton the year they drafted Nick Young, but he was grabbed a coupla picks before they got on the clock...

I don't expect Ilgauskas to ever wear a Wizards uniform, and he'll probably be back with Cleveland in 30 days...

I just hope they use the Cavs first round pick wisely... perhaps package it with their own lottery pick to move up some (if they don't do well in the lottery), perhaps package it with pick 34 to move up to around 25 or 26... there's one player I really like who's likely to be on the board in the late first round, Jarvis Vornado from Mississippi State... the kid's averaging almost 5 blocks per game...

Let them luck out with an early lottery pick, add either John Wall or Evan Turner (or even Cole Aldrich), then pick up Vornado in the late first, and let the rebuilding begin...

You cant deny that Jamison for a first rounder is an absolute steal.

I'm not even going to count Ilgauskas in that trade since he will be back with the Cavs in 30 days anyways like you said.

LeBron and Jamison now can match up with the Magic and Lakers really well now. Besides Mo, their smallest guy in the starting lineup is 6"8.

Good trade for the Cavs. If they gel, they will end up being hard to beat in the postseason.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Apparently the Mavs have stated that they'll pursue him if the Wiz buy out his contract.

I bet they will. Lebron now has teammates and somebody who he can actually count on not named Mo Williams. they have good depth at every position except Center now which could be a problem when they meet Boston or Orlando in the postseason but I doubt it. they're the favorites now imo to win that stupid looking trophy.

Umm, you might need to get your eyes checked. Mo Williams is 6'1''. Anthony Parker is also shorter than 6'8".

So will the Cavs.

He's going to pick the Mavs over the Cavs?

Wow. If you read carefully I said everyone except Mo.

And I assume this is the starting lineup.

Mo
LeBron
Jamison
Hickson
Shaq

Touche. I guess it will just be funny to see you jump on another wagon after the Cavs lose in the playoffs again.
