I know some have brought his name up
maybe if someone's starter gets hurt, he may get a call who knows, I didn't think it was that bad on his side, is it even worth itIts possible, but man I wouldn't be against gambling on a 1 year deal for him if his market just isnt very strong. He was a 1300 yard WR just a year ago in a horrible situation in Cleveland. Hes 30 and really relies on just 1 elite trait so its certainly possible hes in regression, but it seems odd to go from 1300+ yards to done that quick.....typically its a gradual process.
He can still play. I think he could put up 1000+ still. He’s basically been a walking 1000 yards and 8 TDs for his entire career. Its possible, but man I wouldn't be against gambling on a 1 year deal for him if his market just isnt very strong. Not to question the man or his work ethic or anything like that... but I get the feeling he just doesn't love football that much. Or... that's always the kind of vibes I got from him.Its possible, but man I wouldn't be against gambling on a 1 year deal for him if his market just isnt very strong. I'm sure you're not alone in that thinking, but I struggle to see how a guy puts up numbers like he has in Cleveland not enjoying football. It's cold, and you have a constant rotation of below average QBs throwing you the football. Its the ultimate place for an aging WR who made $120M in his career to check out and ride off into the sunset. If he is putting up 1000+ yards on zero passion then yeah I'll bring him in and try to figure out a way to keep him motivated as we go.Not to question the man or his work ethic or anything like that... but I get the feeling he just doesn't love football that much. My initial reaction as well. Sounds like there is more to the story we aren't hearing.Seems a bit harsh. I mean, I can think of other WR's who are "done", way more than Amari. But, oh well.......
Oh yeah I agree. I don't mean for it to sound like "he doesn't care", I think he absolutely does and I think he's competitive. But he just has never struck me as the type who thinks Football is their entire life. So I can see him being the type who would retire when they begin to think their career is in decline instead of trying to keep going past their prime.I'm sure you're not alone in that thinking, but I struggle to see how a guy puts up numbers like he has in Cleveland not enjoying football. I agree with you. Back when Dallas traded him to Cleveland for essentially nothing, the rumor was it was because Cooper refused to get vaccinated. But then there were rumblings that he was jogging through his routes at half speed in the 4th quarter of the playoff loss to the 49ers; and at one point cost CeeDee Lamb a first down by not even trying to block. Not to question the man or his work ethic or anything like that... but I get the feeling he just doesn't love football that much. I think done means he doesn’t want to play anymore. He can still play at a high level but he is a 2 at this point in his careerSeems a bit harsh. I mean, I can think of other WR's who are "done", way more than Amari. But, oh well.......
I think it i is because he does not show the inner diva, or so it was mentioned here when he was here.I think done means he doesn’t want to play anymore. He can still play at a high level but he is a 2 at this point in his career
If he's mentally burnt out, he's done. Been there, done that....if that's the case, he'll never get it back.Seems a bit harsh. I mean, I can think of other WR's who are "done", way more than Amari. But, oh well.......
