You not being ok with good players on your team is hilarious.....
He won't be getting "good player" money, he will be getting elite player money.

Your last statement is true, but I saw no indication that he'll be anything less than what he was this season. He had a season with Oakland where he had good hands, before reverting back to the dropsies.
You being okay with giving up a first rounder and now looking to giving him a big contract (Jerry has to justify giving up a first) is hilarious. This board is going to hate Cooper very soon, just watch.
He's someone who will give you a 100 yard game one week and then turn around and give you a 1 catch for 10 yards the next. Inconsistent, questionable hands, going to be overpaid.
We've hated players for much less in previous years
I don't care what he did in Oakland, with a different QB and offense. As long as he continues to do what he did for the Cowboys, he's the guy.
Must be nice to be buddies with JJ and get inside information like that.He won't be getting "good player" money, he will be getting elite player money.
Where are you getting the information on how much he'll be getting paid? What the heck does a new QB and offense have to do with drops....at all? No one else with Oakland has the drop rate that compares to Braylon Edwards.
If it was across the board in Oakland, I guess sure, you could look at those things. But it's not. Drops are a focus thing, and having 2 seasons out of your 4 years in the league where you had a near historic rate in drops isn't exactly a positive. Having 9 games with us and having 4 great games warranting a big contract and our first round pick on top of it is exactly why we've been put in holes in the past.
I once thought Jerry was beyond this now, but he's not. He'll go to his grave pulling off moves like this because he still believes it's the 90s while his dopey son laughs and thinks he can continue to manipulate the cap in his favor.

Okay, so you're basing your opinion on what other WRs are getting. I thought you'd heard something about Stephen's plans.
"Disappearing" in games isn't necessarily all on him. Double teams, poor O-line play, and QB play usually have something to do with that as well. This wasn't his first season in the league....
He was also inconsistent with us as well. People keep remembering that Eagles and Commanders game. He was also part of our first shut out since 2003, he went down the stretch giving us no more than 32 yards. He had a good game against Seattle and then disappeared for most of the game against the Rams.
This is exactly what he did in Oakland, just look at his game logs.
This was his "best" season in the league, when Carr was playing at a high level.

He's a borderline #1 receiver but will be getting paid more due to what we gave up for him.
........but he's the best WR we've had in a long time, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.you sound like my duck call. quack, quack, quack, quack, quack. inexperienced duck hunters call too often. He had a season with Oakland where he had good hands, before reverting back to the dropsies.

Garrett's not the OC in case you haven't noticed.Garrett will find a way to slow you down Coop.

WutEvery single one of your quotes always reminds me of Baghdad Bob the Iraqi Propaganda Minister during the US Invasion of Iraq. Definitely spot on imitation of him, Good stuff and ty!

He runs excellent routes, and gets open most of the time....okay, once in a while he'll let the ball bounce off his helmet...........but he's the best WR we've had in a long time, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
You’re referring to his rookie season and his third season. I’ll give him a pass for his rookie season. Sometimes a wide receiver can turn it around with a change of scenery.
I think wide receivers, cornerbacks and kickers are like that. It’s mental and sometimes a change of scenery can turn the player around. Also..sometimes it takes a few seasons for a receiver to evolve. His catch % was by far the best in his career this last season with us or the Raiders. Nobody ever questioned Cooper’s talent.
The two games you’re referring to also came in the biggest moments of the season. If we lost either one...our season is likely over. His presence alone gave Dak confidence and helped turn our season around. I am shocked he was as good as he was so soon considering the lack of practice reps.
There is really no reason at all to bash the guy. He’s pretty much the same age as Calvin Ridley and he has been a productive Cowboy. He’s gonna get paid but we weren’t going to upgrade the position cheap.
....Oakland's O-Line, QB play, and Crabtree opposite of him were all playing at a high level. You're running out of excuses. The guy is just an inconsistent WR - now this is fine, but you don't pay guys like this near top dollar.
Again though, why would you expect to give up a first round pick for a WR mid-season and then not pay him top dollar to keep him around? He's getting paid and it will more than he's worth. It sucks, but this is Jerry's world and we're all just living in it.
Biggest moment? We needed him against the Colts as well, did nothing. We needed him in the Rams, he didn't show up much in that game outside of the first quarter. I would think a freakin' divisional playoff game is a little bigger than a divisional game.
And you're downplaying his drops, dude, he was right there with Edwards and Little (2008 and 2011) as having some of the worst numbers in NFL history. That's not just an off year, it's a near historically bad. He didn't just do it once, he did it twice.
Actually, Braylon Edwards might just be a decent comparison for him.
You don't overpay for skill positions and hope to have sustained success. Period.
