Amari revisited

I think we can all say he has had a very positive effect upon this team..O still not great overall, but Zeke, Gallup, Bease, etc...all benefiting from having him on the field. Imagine if we were healthy on the OL?

Or if we had a competent QB.

Yes, as anyone who realizes that >60% of 1st rounders bust said, it was a smart trade.

You can't just compare player for player. You have to look at the cap money.

Amari is going to cost 14 million next year, and probably around that amount each year following that if they resign him. Draft picks cost nothing.

You have to compare Amari vs a 1st Round pick and any players you could have gotten with the money you give to Cooper. Cooper has to be better than any player that you could have gotten in FA for this to even be a discussion.

Like the player, trade is still terrible.

Dude has awesome route running, his breaks always putting the corners behind. I love Dez but he tended to round his routes and the corners always read them. If only Dak had better accuracy, he is horrible with his deep ball, makes the offense short to intermediate ONLY.

Wrong.

Yeah sure, we could've gotten a nice Taco and 2 Deonte Thompsons to do nothing.

Great plan!

Those 1st round picks have zero guarantee of panning out and many times they take years to develop if they even show up ever. Amari was a number 4 pick I believe. A rookie may be cheaper, but a rookie wouldn't help us now. I take Amari hands down, and if he keeps showing up, I sign him.

He’s a great player, still not happy about the first rounder. Eagles were down 2 of their top db’s going into the game and Darby got hurt during the game.

Do you really view this as a championship caliber team? You are right, the other benefit of Cooper is that he can help us right now if we are going to make a run. But even if we somehow do make the playoffs I have a hard time seeing this team going anywhere.

We have enough talent to be a top team in this league. We just need Linehan and Garrett to show up on the offensive side of the ball CONSISTENTLY

It's not Garrett's nature to coach like he did tonight. It only happens when he's backed into a corner and desperate. He's a vanilla, conservative coach who isn't going to change.

This is a dumb and unfounded post at least with Dak's deep ball...sure their timing is off(he's a new receiver) but Dak throws a pretty damn nice deep ball. People have stated this ad naseum but it's not true. Dak just doesn't throw the deep ball often but when he does it's usually pretty nice.

This is not the guy that had a sub-1000 season last year.

He's a legit #1.

I just wish he was opposite Dez.

What, laid up in the hospital?;)

Funny you should use the term "opposite Dez".... I was just thinking he's the opposite of Dez in about every way imaginable.

They are only a little apart. If they start hitting that, other teams will completely fear our offense with Zeke+Amari, etc. Amari has only been in our system 3 weeks and it is clear already he is capable and with blasphemy intended, he is better than Dez at route running...it is what it is.

If he had a QB like Brady or Rodgers, geez he would he unreal. Guy gets awesome separation, excellent routes, seems his hands are good etc....

Agreed, Brady would be in heaven to have a young speedy wideout that runs crisp routes.

Man, I didn’t realize what an elite route runner Amari Cooper is! If Dak could be better with accuracy, Cooper has well over 120 yards... Love having a guy that has every tool in the bag on the outside

The timing will happen in time, every QB/WR needs more than two weeks to get their timing down on deep routes.
