you actually get the blocking. There were some HUGE holes last night. I mean holes so big Jerrah could have made good yds. THOUGH the LT (McQ) was not so good. And there needs to be more consistency. BUT still a LOT better then the first two games.

True my grandmother in a walker could have gotten 20 yards with those open holes.

What game were you watching. No sacks were given up almost 100 yds rushing the 1st half. Manny Lawson was playing alot against McQuistan and yet yo never saw him make a tackle. We was protecting the blind side yet nobody touched Bledsoe. How can then give a not so good rating, was it based opinion or performance?

McQ was NOT so good. How is that hard to understand? Compared to the rest of the linemen.

First play: TO the right - good lane. 7yds for JJ
2nd play: got the first down, but if #18 had at least tried to get into the way of the SS there was NO ONE around to stop JJ.

I thought the entire unit played a strong game and that Gurode played very well. Reallly like what I am seeing in Columbo.
The worrisome part is we havent seen anyone in the unit go against a true threat like a Simeon Rice or Strahan. Still, they are progressing about as well as any of us could have hoped.

Polite did look good on that short yd play- I think he might just be the short yds guy.

On the next play JJ knocked our own guy #77 out of the way and then got a couple more. ANnouncers saying he is running hard.ON that play the blocking was not very good- got strung out and no lane.

Give an example of a not so good play. Those were design to go to the right. If you were ever on an OL then you would know that alot of tackles come from the backside. 200 yds by the QB yet the Dline could not tell you Bledsoe's deodrant type.

Actually sealing off is one of the main duties of a Tackle- to prevent backside pursuit.

On the screen play- great blocking- been YEARS since we had that. #65 destroyed one guy while #63 sealed pursuit. Rivera really got out there BUT he picked the wrong guy and passed him- he was the one that made the tackle on Barber. BY the way- THAT tackle looked SUSPICIOUSLY like a HORSE COLLAR.

Next play there was no hole and JJ could have tried to go outside- but mindful of orders from BP he took it where the play was supposed to go. I HOPE during the regular season he will try it outside.

On the 4th down play the line did not get a lot of movement BUT they did get the DL on the ground and Barber was able to get the first.

Then the next play once again no hole and JJ got nothing. SO frankly the first drive the run blocking was inconsistent.

No his problem is that he's such a Julius fan that he can't stand it when anyone DARES to praise Barber.

Barber's a good back. And him being a good back takes nothing away from Julius, who's ALSO a good back.

I like them both.

I think Barber is a good back. Just not as good as JJ. I keep hearing how he is supposedly SO Much better at blocking and catching and I really do not see that much difference. Barber played very well last night. BUT the Barber man lovers refuse to admit when he makes mistakes. Then they scream at me when I praise JJ and flat out say he is better. So trying to make me the heavy frankly looks dumb.
