From the nerve center of all things Cowboys, the latest observations about our heroes.

1. OK, I have not seen the passing stats. But it seemed that Manning was shredding our secondary at will. Despite the INTs.
2. Who is the gawd-darned secondary coach? He should be fired. he's got a bunch of studs and whoever the coach is, he is not making adjustments to the QB de jour.
3. I saw A LOT OF PRESSURE AND TOUCHES OF MANNING. I saw one blocked ball and lots activity near him that made him hurry plays, often throwing to the ground.
4. I am disappointed with our ground game in that we did not consistently punch it through as often. I thought I would see a land-moving JJ/MBIII game with the O-line moving them out more. Romo passed more frequently than I thought he would.
5. If there were any other good propsects out there, I would say Vanderjaght would be released by Monday noon.
6. Carpenter showed promise.
Well a great effort by the 'Boys. What a great day for the fans of America's Team.
7. Flozell looked like a tired old man when he let a defender blow by him and cause Romo's fumble.
8. Is Barber now our No. 1 RB? Sure seems like Parcells is moving in that direction.
9. Romo is scary. He has the skills. With experience no telling how good he will end up being.
10. Boycott Sprint. The geniuses at Sprint choose to boost the Colts' QB by having him do a commercial in a cheesy wig and mustache? Like that was supposed to be funny? Sprint can keep the Indiana market. The Cowboys huge market, I hope, will go to any other phone service. Those demographic boys and gals at Sprint are clueless.

:starspin :starspin

Manning nearly threw as many incompletions as he did completions.....

19 incompletions to 20 completions.

That is an amazing stat, Jimz.

Just from casual observation I would have thought Manning did better than that.

I still think our secondary coach SUCKS big time.

I only watched the second half due to a meeting I had during the first.

But from what I saw, it sure seemed like Manning had another one of his usual performances in a big game. He looked very pedestrian to me.

Sure, he had some great throws -- like the deep dart to Harrison late in the game. But he also had a lot of misfires. Lots of them.

Manning had a mediocre day for being the 2nd best QB in the league.

Yeah, this was a very subpar day by Manning's standards. He moved the ball on us but he has destroyed almost everyone else. Our D did a great job on him.

He shredded the thong he was wearing after that "roughing the passer" call that never should have been.

Don't be so cynical, Hostile.

LOL

A great day for the Cowboys nonetheless and despite and in spite.

Fansince, this from thd main broadcast booth at Cowboys America:

That is why they are called observations. Just opinion and from one's perspective.
Sorry to offend your sense of what went on.

Wow. I thought Dallas did about as good a job as any team could ever hope to do vs. Peyton and that offense.

You hold any QB to 51 percent - not just this Manning - and you're doing something right. We kept most things out front, didn't blow too many assignments in the back, and tackled well after the catch.

The turnovers were icing on the cake, IMO. They were certainly crucial, but I just thought the gameplan was really sound and, aside from the Reggie Wayne play, was extremely well-executed.

JMO.

P. Manning 20/39 254 2 2

I expected his numbers to be bigger than that. It doesn't look like a shredding to me at all.

The only thing Manning was shredding was his jock strap after being knocked to the ground so much.

Are you serious? The secondary played outstanding against THE BEST pass offense in the world.
6. Carpenter showed promise.
If by promise, you mean laying on his back, then I agree.
7. Flozell looked like a tired old man when he let a defender blow by him and cause Romo's fumble
Freeney, one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, put a sick move on Flozell. You can't fault him for that, sheesh.
8. Is Barber now our No. 1 RB? Sure seems like Parcells is moving in that direction.
Looked like the same gameplan it's been all year to me
