Amber Alert for Spears and Canty

Spears had 9 sacks & 14 QB hurries his senior year. He also had two FR for TDs in his college career, so he was known to be a playmaker. He has not shown half of what he was in college. The Chargers not only beat us in the Ware/Merriman deal, they also got the better player between Spears/Castillo. We have been ahead of the Chargers in the last two drafts, yet it is the Bolts who have drafted the All-Pros.

Havent Castillo and Merriman both been in trouble for steroids? So are ya saying our guys should do the same and become all pros? This was a total breakdown in all phases. We went out and got stomped last night and the main reason was Sean Payton. He coached a hell of a game and our players rolled over for him. Lets not hang this loss on just 2 guys.

When Spears was drafted I can remember all the "experts" saying that he was a perfect fit for the 3-4. That he wasn't great in any particular area but solid in all. That he shouldn't be considered your typical 4-3 DE, whose main objective is to get the QB.

Should he be producing more than he is? Yes. But to expect him to have 8-10 sacks or to be a dominant pass rusher is not his forte.
