I just wish people would stop doing the National Anthem "their way". It's not a try out session.

Well, unfortunately, there are idiots who believe what you said (and are serious).

Our National Anthem is rather tame compared to some others. France's has a line about "watering our fields with an impure blood" or something like that.

I have to reflect on that statement. Because, that is like saying our flag is rather lame, or our traditions are rather lame. I am not sure that I want to be there.

I didn't say it was lame, I said (in response to people who complain about how violent it is) that it is tame compared to some other countries, giving France as an example.

Well the song doesn't have a lot of range as its terse , driving and clipped. The best you get is a half note unless you extend the last note. It's a military diddy written from a time when they still kept cadence with a drum. I'm not a fan of that with classical voice artists.

Metal sure but I guess that is kinda 19th century metal. I love our traditions, culture, and history but we tend to hidebound too much.

America the Beautiful is a wonderful song, but its not our national anthem. So to answer the question, NO.

I feel the same way. We have but one national anthem and there's nothing wrong with it. The Stars and Stripes, forever may it reign!

Yes i hate it when the singer tries to " remix" the anthem. Comeon just sing it like it was supposed to be.

Second, everyone should know the words to the anthem. No excuses.
