What the hell were the other 300 million Americans doing?
I think a lot of sports fans don't get that the overwhelming majority of Americans don't care about sports. At all. Hell, less than 1/3 of Americans watch the Super Bowl.

I know they can tell how many individual TV customers are tuning into the game but I would like to know how they can be sure how many people are actually in front of that TV watching.

The number varied in my house yesterday so I would think the actual number of viewers was well over 42 million.

For those who doubt it, well yesterday's game had the largest TV audience for a NFL game EVER! Yes, the Giants market is #1, but the Cowboys continue to shine no matter when, where or who they play. Either you love 'em or you hate 'em, but either way, you care.

It still baffles me that the league isn't on our side, understanding that they make more money when they are good. I want to make clear that I'm not saying there is a ref conspiracy or bias toward us, only that if the owners wanted to maximize profits, they would rein the officials in some in our games, maybe nudge them in the direction of calling the game to benefit us.

Of course, these rich men can be pretty petty, so it wouldn't really surprise me if it was the opposite. Jealousy can lead to unhealthy practices.
