An amazing Romo stat

I think some of this is a product of being in Garrett's system for a while. We seem to lull teams into expecting one thing throughout the game and late in the game, we torch them over the top.

Erroneous, erroneous on all accounts. Why dont we just start making stats up to make our blatantly bad QB look good?

Romo leads in TD's in between the 4th and 13th minute of the 3rd quarter when he wears his hat backwards before the game.

Too funny! People talk about how Romo chokes in the clutch but the FACTS say differently. The FACTS say that in the 4th quarter, with the game on the line, Romo is among the best ever to play the game.

The FACTS that Adam is pointing out are not arbitrary numbers to make Romo look good when he really doesn't. They are FACTS that prove that Romo is extremely clutch late in games and makes big plays late in games. You know, when it counts the most.

Romo's rating for the 4th quarter is incredible! His penchant for making big plays late in games is amazing. The only thing more astonishing than Romo's performance late in games is the density of the people who cannot see it.

But.. but..but... he can't be trusted to win the big one. Wait until December when he will show his true colors. We should trade this bum now.

We should trade him for Dexter Coakley and then trade Coakley, Bobby Carpenter, and a 6th round pick for Tom Brady.

That stat is so misleading. I'm sure Jason Campbell and Chad Hutchinson have some esoteric stats that place them among the all-time greats, too.

The point, people, is that Romo has yet to win a big-time game. It's not enough going in to say the match was important. Everyone said Sunday's game against the Eagles (and the week before vs. Atlanta) was important, but what is it really? Just another mid-season win that has nothing to do with playoff positioning. It wasn't even a playoff clincher or a playoff game.

You only know it's a big-time game after the fact. Winning Sunday wasn't a big-time win. How good can the Eagles be, really, when they lose to us?

A win over a playoff team in the playoffs is a big-time win. Losing to the eventual Super Bowl champs is a big game, but then, you lost. And before you say Romo out-dueled Manning in 2006 before the Colts won the SB, I think it is obvious the Colts were not the SB champs at the time they played, therefore there's no way that's a big-time game.

I hope this helps those of you out there who still wonder about what is and what isn't a big game for Romo to win.

If I attempted to come up with a satirical post to show how lame the arguments against Romo are I couldn't have done a better job than this guy.

What is it up to now?

Romo has 18 now, one short of Jim Hart's "record."

The only other active players who have more than five are Drew Brees (9) and Tom Brady (5) -- and both of them have more than twice as many career pass attempts as Romo.
