Did Miami use Thomas to rush the passer? I'd like to be able to send anyone in the front seven.
When I was looking at his stat sheet it looked like he usually got about 3 sks a year. Which is pretty decent for a ILB/MLB.

I put Akin down as our weakest player on the team as far as starters. He was thouroughly unimpressive last year. I wish we coulda seen Carp there some last year...how much worse could it have been.

I find it interesting we sign Thomas...not going to be easy for Carp to get on the field again.

his play just totally fell off last year. he wasn't bad at all the year before. made plenty of tackles and a handful of "impact plays"...and then nothing. i certainly dont see how competition can hurt at all although you'd obviously rather have young guys step in.

I love the signing. One question for the gurus. Anyone have any knowledge on his coverage ability?

I'm not sure if I'm happy or not about Thomas. On one hand I certainly don't like the idea of a 34 year old ILB who is coming off head injury problems last year.

On the other hand...who knows. Maybe he returns to form and gives us a year or two of solid football inside.

he has certainly had a very impressive career, though, and those are some impressive tackle numbers.

I watched him play the Commanders early in the season, and the guy was flying around all over the field

he passed 3 physicals, so he's fine, and we'll probably rotate him, which I don't think Miami ever did

Not sure where he ranks but i think Seau is tops with 1,809. Zach has 1,642, from what i can find.

Like sacks, the NFL didn't keep stats on TKLS until recently. A guy like Clay Mathews, who played 20 years, like Seau, could have as many tkls, but i can find his stats, Maybe someone can help?

Thanks for the info. I've been looking to see where he ranks but i can't seem to find a link for it.

I hope he stays healthy. He should bring a lot of stability at the position. He has been one of my favorite players in the league ever since he came out of college.
