Gentlemen ...

For what it's worth, I know the Dallas Cowboys are a better team than what showed up in Philly on Sunday ,,,for what it's worth.

Better Luck in 2009 Gentlemen.

I hate the eagles but I regret the cowboys passing on Desean Jackson or at least trying to trade up to get him after he fell. I wanted him in August of last year and still want him now.

He might be 167 lbs but he will torment us for at least the next 4 years until he goes back to the west coast.

The one that got away.

Im affraid 2009 will be the year that the Head Coach has to worry about getting fired the entire season while trying to change his coaching style.

A Disciplinarian coach can go soft but a soft coach can't go disciplinarian.

It's like a strange un-written rule.

I like Wade. I love his defensive schemes too. But he isn't a good enough Head coach to overcome all of the adversity that is about to present itself.

The Cowboys franchise needs a butt kicker as the head coach.

This franchise always faces so many distractions and other strange stuff. You have to have a coach that is in your face and gets your attention at all times.

Our best success as a franchise has came with these types of Head Coaches.

Desean Jackson has improved as a route runner tremendously and I don't know if thats something that we focus on enough in Dallas.

Our best route runner is Miles Austin and we can't keep him on the field.

Roy Williams has all the athletic ability in the world. If he trains hard this offseason and gets the "im going to out-athlete you" mentality out of his head he can become a GREAT player.

The Lions did a horrible job of coaching that guy. He is still playing with his natural abilities. He HAS to develop more pro skills and I believe he will.

I know how that could hurt ...heck, we didn't even know he was going to be first team material right out of the shute. You never know ...sometimes the number one pick terms out to be a scrub, and someone out of the blue turns into a Witten!

BTW I was really hoping we could have beat you guys and sent Andy Reid and McNabb packing.

I know your fan base becomes frustrated with them but you guys have been fortunate to have them.

The day Andy Reid and McNabb are gone from Philly will be a great day for all Cowboys fans whether they want to admit it or not.

It's amazing that you say that CATCH17, because I was dialoguing on another MB with a Cowboys fans and happened to say the exact same thing.
There are a lot of strong personalities on your team (Terrel Owen, Packman Jones, Tank Johnson, etc) who demand a strong coach to deal with clashing personalities in the lockerroom. Wade Phillips is a great guy, but may not ncessarily be that type of coach.

I'm really dreading the possibility of a Cowboys team lead by the likes of a Bill Cowher. But then, Jerry Jones says Wade's a keeper???

I agree with you about Miles Austin.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought acquisitioning WR Roy WIlliams kept Miles Austin "off" the field?!

yeah because when we had a guy like BP we were so much better. Oh, wait, we are also 9-7 then and without playoff wins.

Doesn't matter. Clearly just going back to the coach who rules with fear is the answer. it didn't work before Wade but no doubt it's going to work now.

Embarrasingly, that's an understatement - to the point that I have actually hoped that in addition to a full-fledged bonified play-maker wide-receiver, that the Eagles would pursue a Bill Cowher or Bill Parcells. But that's just me!

Placing on NFL fan hat ...

I hear the essence of what you're saying, but indeed, I think the Tuna was a better coach than Wade on many different levels. The circumstances were different because Bill didn't always agree with Jerry (not saying that Wade does). Wade is certainly not the disciplinarian that Bill was - and look what Bill has done for the playoff contending Miami Dolphins (who just a year ago was struggling to prevent from becoming the NFL record-breaking Lions).

Congratulations. That's truly sickening to say. And don't expect me to say good luck in the playoffs. I would sooner swallow a grenade and toss you the pin.

However, you are wrong. The Dallas Cowboys were who both the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles thought they were at seasons' end. Namely, predictable, unfocused and undetermined. The entire franchise, from front office to coaches to players, failed when it mattered most.

There are things needin' fixin' in Big D, primarily proper attitudes about winning football from everyone including Jerry Jones on down. 2009 is an opportunity for this team as a whole to do just that, but until every person within this franchise wants to win Lombardi Trophies again, that opportunity will keep hanging in the air. We'll see.

Desean Jackson might be one of the little guys that prove you can play for years in the NFL but I still have my doubts he will last long.

But Bill Parcells was never the problem.

If anyone can clean or fix a mess it is that guy.

He helped build this team but he never finished the job that he is obviously capable of finishing.

95% of this is on the players anyways. I acknowledge that.

But now Wade wants to form a plan to basically do something BP has already mastered.

That game was over the second Philly had a reason to win. A fitting end to the Cowboys season.

Maybe. I think Austin may have developed into a better route runner.

If we actually used our WR's I think Austin would explode.

To big, to fast, and to agile not to be good.

He reminds me of an oversized Terry Glenn.

True.

Our offense consists of TO running off coverage and if Witten is covered checking it down to an RB.

We have to get more guys involved.
