Here's hoping the Eagles finish it off today.

Dallas is tired, beaten up, and gasping. 18 days of rest for the key people would do wonders.

Imagine a fully fresh Micah, DLaw, Diggs, Hooker, Kearse, etc on defense! Imagine Zeke and Pollard with plenty of bounce, and the full key receiving corps fresh. Picture the offensive line healed and ready to mash.

On the flip side, it could also benefit Dallas if Philly has to wait 3 full weeks to play a meaningful game with us waiting for them. That is too much down time.

Hoping against hope to win the division and No. 1 seed is fool's gold. That was ruined in Jacksonville.

Let's get ready for Brady starting right now!!!

This is my thinking.

Worst case is Saints win today, forcing us to play week 18. We win, but Philly wins. We still end up the 5th seed.

I don’t think the Saints win. But I am sure it’ll be close with the eagles winning late

In week 17, every team is "tired, beaten up, and gasping". That's no excuse for the Cowboys to give up hope on winning the division. If the Eagles win then good on them but no Cowboys fan should root for them to do it. Real Cowboys fans want the Saints to win today and give us hope to win the division crown in week 18. Thanks, OP for revealing who you really are... a quitter!

This is passive aggressive management of disappointment. You know the Eagles are likely to win the division and #1 seed today so you have to spin it in a way that's good for Dallas so you feel better about the whole situation.

No, the Eagles winning is not best for the Cowboys. What's best for the Cowboys is earning that #1 seed so they get to stay at home for the playoffs and only need two wins to make the SB as opposed to having to become road warriors most likely and win 3 straight road games.

We better hope we win the division

Our record on Grass is 1-3 and we haven't won a road playoff game since 92'

We're trying to break the 30 year curse

I want to agree, but this team has proven time and again they come out flat after long layoffs. It’s a low intensity squad that comes out flat after bye weeks and extra time off. I think it would be prudent to limit snap counts and let backups get some work, but starters should absolutely get plenty of time, too.
