An Emotional Reason for the Jerry/Jason Delay?

Jerry needs to cut the crap. Get rid of Garrett now. He is worthless. This is an indictment on Jerry on how terrible of an owner he is then running a business for the sake of us fans.

If he retains Garrett many will desert the Cowboys and won't care one bit if they never, ever watch another game they play again. That will include me.

do players fear Andy Reid? Did they fear McVay last year? Do they fear Kyle Shanahan? The days of fearing a coach is over, for the most part. What happened in Baltimore this year over last year? Did they players have a newfound fear of Harbaugh? or did a player take the next step and take the team to a new level? I know, I know, it was all coaching that has put Lamar Jackson in the MVP race... blha blah blah

No but there is certainly accountability. Garrett doesn't care about accountability. That's why problems have been festering and growing for many, many years and never been addressed.

Emotion should play no part in any of this other than a desire to win. That's one thing that is fundamentally wrong with this organization. This clown should have been given his walking papers years ago

Emotional?

i get you love the man but hes been here since 07 and hasn’t produced

he has to go

"There's zero value in almost making the playoffs" That right there is a gross misunderstanding IMHO of who our owner is. That entire belief is the exact opposite of what he considers an accomplishment. It is an accomplishment to his bottom line. Being in the hunt year after year, putting fans in the seats, selling merchandise is every reason why he considers this success. I'm not saying he is happy with not winning another SB since '95 what I'm saying is as long as there is a chance at the playoffs and people are watching then that's "apparently" good enough. Why else would he continue with a coach for this long and those stats?
This is why Jerry is a great OWNER!
But not a great GM.
This almost winning, anticipation keeps the fan base on edge and spending money. Which is why Jerry is good at what he does...Business

NOT FOOTBALL!!!

winning, tho important to JJ...is more of a secondary happenstance these days. Reason is lack of changing ones thinking and or evolving. That's why the Ravens are so good. THEY ADAPT. We do not.

I don't care how you slice it the fact that Jerry didn't know he was going to move on from JG before the end of the season screams dysfunction.

Not one other team would even think about keeping this guy around.

I think Jerry is on the fence about Garrett. I think he also has a good reason to be. I know I am in the minority on this one.

Garrett made some bad decisions. He hasn’t been a perfect coach. He’s too robotic. But he has had the Cowboys in the hunt every year.

Maher missed field goals this year. Moore has brain farts as OC, Zeke fumbled around a critical time, Marinelli sucked as a DC, Amari has a deflection interception. If any of the foregoing were not the case we would be in the playoffs yet again.

BASED ON TERMS set by the Cowboys ownership many things are outside Garrett’s control. It may not be how it should be but that’s how it is.

Garrett has been in the hunt because he's had a strong roster of players to cover for his inability to win the coaching battles. We may hate (I sure do) how JJ runs this organization but he has given Garrett a heck of a group of players to work with. There is no denying that.

True. The league always jumps on something that appears shiny and new. What the league didn't know is that Garret had Tony Sporano on staff who was doing all the game planning in 2007. JG never had an offense of his own.

The one quality Jason does have in spades is charisma. He is apparently quite impressive in interviews and Jerry bought his BS hook line and sinker for 12 years. .......and it looks like he still doesn't want him to leave.

Nice summary. Book learned, silver tongued.

Still a backup QB trying to function as a real coach...

Time say goodbye to the end of an ERROR

Barry Switzer would have gone to another NFC championship with this group.
