An interesting debate

I'm curious what argument there is against being paid for it.

I don't know that it's an argument, per say theo, but I think the case can be made that there are plenty of organizations out there that might not want that kind of information to come out at all. It is conceivable that making sure you were never seen or heard from again could be the goal for some.

I'd be delighted to make that contibution.

But with the 10s of BILLIONS they spend on cancer research, a teeny tiny fraction coming my way would go un-noticed...say 20 mil :D

Money would not be an issue for companies or the government, that's for sure.

In another universe--where there was no 10s of billions of cancer money out there--I would do it for free.

A man already exists who's blood has the ability to cure every known sickness and disease and He is alive today. Did this fact even come up among these 20 somethings?

More info.

I would tell you who he is referring to, but I would be banned.

Now do you know?

Yeah. I'm on the phone and missed what he was saying.

I just had a convo the other day with someone about an AIDs patient who was supposedly.....effectively "cured" from a bone marrow transplant from a donor with an extremely rare form of a surface receptor on his white blood cells.

I didn't look into the claim but having that convo fresh in mind I was wondering if he was referencing the same story or one similar.

Guess not.

I'd ask to be paid for my time and that its free to current and future cancer patients. Nothing would be worth more to me then to know that the disease is defeated after taking many lives.

Same..

I'd also want the right to tell them that they can't do any tests that im not comfortable with.

Hell yes I would charge for it.

But I don't think you'd have to, because I think scientists and doctors would be throwing cash at you.

The companies charge you for the cure, so heck yes you make them pay. However, the more realistic situation is that philanthropists would come out in droves--even more so than now.

On the flip side, there are already companies that pay people to be lab rats. A company in Austin called Pharmaco pays money to go to their facility for weeks or months a time to test drugs. Medicine is money; that won't change.

Being alive would be a great gift. Being alive and rich would be even that much better.

I've also heard of other companies that pay you to cut of a toe or a thumb, so that medical students can learn how to put it back on. 30-50k...but still you lose your thumb or toe if they don't get it right.

You could do all sorts of medical tests on a gorilla that size. Not to mention, that he probably wouldn't demand payment for his cancer curing blood.

Yes, .. isn't it sad that it is necessary. Wouldn't want to offend someone.

Its precisely this in-your-face/it's-sad-if-you-don't-believe-what-I-do obnoxious behavior that is offensive.

LOL, wow!, calm down. Why does that bother you so much? :laugh2:

You don't have to believe what I believe.

I have never tried to make you believe what I do, .. but I should be able to say what I believe, .. but can't because people get offended so easily.

Telling.

Right. Free speech includes the right to tell people to shut up.

It is allowable to speak out against my beliefs, but I am not allowed to speak up for my beliefs, .. per forum rules.

So what is sauce for the goose is not necessarily sauce for the gander after all.

Always surprises me that some have such an issue with me believing what I believe. Not sure why they care what I believe.

As I said, .. it's telling.
