A belief I've always held....I totally agree.

A team becomes elite by beating teams at their best, not by slaying paper tigers.

You become great by earning it...a concept lost on the laziest set of our population.

it's early in the year, and there are tougher teams on the schedule

it's no matter if we beat a Miami Dolphin team missing their best wide-out, or the Oakland Raiders or insert other horrible team, esp. that early in the season

In your estimation...not mine.

we'd have to play a team seriously suffering from the injury bug for me to be convinced

Do you know that being a bully by beating up weak people will come back to haunt you...because while you think you are all tough and stuff...someone is going to come along and bloody your nose but good?

To be the best, you have to beat the best, period!

Look at the eagles good runs that last few years! They were beating the crap out of everbody in the NFC east...then they have to go against a team that is good and they get their butts kicked! That is not a champion!

you can't control the health of the team you're playing

just like if you're going up against a bad team, you still don't underestimate, and prepare for them like they are a good team, no coach goes into a game, and says, "well, they have some injuries, we'll take it easy"

Coaches of all sports will tell you they learn alot about their team from how they play the lesser opponent.

I suscribe to that notion.

Very true...

But in competition...winner takes all. Strive for perfection...

I would rather know that I beat the best team out there and they did not have injuries...I just beat the hell out of them, just because I can!

I was a baseball player...never played football. Our team played this team that was beating the hell out of other teams because of their pitcher...striking out everyone...cocky...laughing.

In the 9th...was 1 - 3 - we were losing...I was wondering why this ******* kept making fun of us? I was a catcher so I batted last after two outs...

The bases were loaded from the center fielder and the shortstop and the 2nd base guy...and then the two outs.

I was the last to bat...to try and win the game...Freddy the pitcher from the other team threw the pitch and I hit it out of the park...

After the game that team was so embarrsed...we all shook hands, but they did not say **** to us after...

That's how you win...

(true story...and if anyone wants to know about Freddy...let me know)

Just saw on the local news here in Charlotte that Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers was arrested at 2:30am this morning for speeding and DWI while in Charlotte.

Will players ever learn?

Out drinking and driving around at 2:30 AM what do you expect will happen. Plenty of drunks on the road at that time as well as plenty of cops. Bad combination

When will these guys learn to call a cab or have a designated driver?

Now just the other night with nothin’ to do
We broke a case of proof 102
And started itchin’ for that wonderful feel
Of rollin’ in an automobile
You could say we was out of our mind
And let me tell you we were flyin’ while blind

Who was that reciever that beat that horse?

Your thinking of Chad Johnson. He beat the horse in a quarter mile (or eighth) I believe but was given a 100 meter head start. Still, a pretty good accomplishment.

Dolphins WR Chambers reportedly arrested

July 14, 2007
MIAMI (TICKER) -- Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chambers was arrested in North Carolina on charges of driving while impaired, reckless driving and speeding according to a report on the Miami Herald's web site on Saturday.

According to the report, Chambers was arrested at 2:31 a.m. EDT on Saturday morning. He later was released on $1,750 bond.

Chambers' arrest would be the latest incident by a Dolphin. Defensive tackle Fred Evans, who was arrested on June 23 for resisting arrest with violence, batter on a police officer and trespassing, later was released by the team.

In March, talkative linebacker Joey Porter, who signed with the Dolphins in the offseason, was arrested for punching Cincinnati Bengals tackle Levi Jones in a Las Vegas casino.

After making the Pro Bowl in 2005, Chambers was a major disappointment last season as he finished with 59 catches for a career-low 677 yards and four touchdowns.

Miami receiver Chambers arrested for DWI

NFL.com wire reports

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 14, 2007) -- Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chambers was arrested on charges of driving while impaired and speeding.

Chambers, 28, was arrested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police around 2:30 a.m., several miles south of downtown, said police Capt. Lisa Goelz. He faces charges of driving while impaired, speeding, and reckless driving, she said.

He was later released on a $1,750 bond, according to Goelz. No other details were available.

Chambers, Miami's top receiver, began his NFL career with the Dolphins in 2001. He played in the Pro Bowl after the 2005 season.

"We recently learned about this and are in the process of gathering more information," Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said.

A spokesperson for Chambers couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
