And now let's welcome Pete Carroll to the mix

I would be interested in seeing what Pete could do with Dak, I mean look what he accomplished with Wilson. No other coach has even had a formidable offense with him since he left Seattle and that was Payton and Tomlin as his coach.

In all seriousness, Carroll is a good coach and players love him. I'd be excited about him and the coaching staff he could assemble.

But there's just no way they're going to pay him a living wage. And at his age, that's really important.

This is probably just a leak to motivate Schotty into signing what is no doubt a ridiculous and insane contract full of stupid incentives and not much money either.

At the beginning of the search, I thought the possibility of Carroll was meh. Now he looks like prime Bill Parcells.
Yep, it's sad. He's by far the best of the potential hires at this point, but not exactly what we need.

PC would have this team competitive and overachieving for 3 years until he retires. Its better than the alternatives. Who knows, might even get a couple playoff wins.

This actually makes more sense to me. Especially with Jerry’s asinine motivation to get Jason Witten experience. Carroll is in his 70s and probably doesn't want coach past 4-5 years.

I'm always in favor of coaches who've shown they can win championships. Carroll won a Super Bowl his third season. He also won a national championship. And his Super Bowl appearances didn't come with a superstar QB. Wilson is a good one, but it's not like with McCarthy and Belichick, with fans saying they're nothing without Rodgers and Brady.

He's not perfect, of course, or he'd have a job, but he made the playoffs in 12 out of 16 seasons as a head coach.

Of course, I expect him to end up with the Raiders.

I'd kill 7 people to not have Schotty at HC.
See, now the FBI will be monitoring all your Cowboyzone and social media posts. We may start to get takes from FBI special agents now.

All bets are on that you would be right.

If anybody believes a word Fish says, he claims Jerry met with PC, lol.....he is stealing money from The Athletic

Oil and water....Booger likes to be chummy with his Head Coach's....what would these two (2) talk about at lunch is what I'd like to know....they both get their news from different places, if ya know what I mean....haha.

Fits the Witten timeline due to age. Carroll can look respectable in a few years "retiring" to allow for Witten to take over compared to a puppet like Schottenheimer getting fired for Witten.

If you think about it all Jerry has to do is bring him in as TE coach or something smaller. He doesn't need to appear to be a threat to anyones job, which at this point he shouldn't be anyway.

This whole thing is actually really fun and amusing

Stephen wasn't lying toward the end of the year when he said they hadn't yet discussed what to do at head coach. These idiots literally were not prepared for this. What else does a GM of a football team do?!

Really is unbelievable. Most GMs and college ADs keep a list of potential coaches should the need arise. Throw in the fact McCarthy was working on the last year of his contract and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum still had no preliminary list or discussions abt possible HCs until after Big Mike walked away once his contract expired.

Absolutely mind blowing

Looks good on paper till Pete realizes he can not get the type of players he wants to build a decent team.
