Dez Bryant is having a good offseason, but it's got to carry over, says receivers coach http://******/J7rizf

The winner of the offseason underwear olympics 2 years running has been thrust to the forefront again. Will anyone out hustle bryant during this years OTAs and 2 a days?

I think this is the year Dez fufills his vast potential.

One thing for sure is that there is no excuses. They will be no "Well, Dave Campo was the coach, what did you expect?" excuses with Robinson who, IMHO, is unquestionably the top WR coach in the NFL.

Campo was a DB coach.

I know. It's just an example of what I constantly see posted here on CZ.... things like "Well, Mike Jenkins was the 64 ranked CB in 2010... however, Dave Campo was the coach so how much can you blame Jenkins"....

With Robinson, Dez is the best WR coach in the NFL. There will be no "sucky position coach" excuses if he doesn't fulfill his potential.

There's an article in one of the local Dallas newspapers which discussed all the hard work that Bryant has been putting in at VR this offseason. Cowboys very pleased with his efforts & work ethic.

We all need remember the NFL lockout particularly affected rookies & 2nd year players & some of the older vets. While some of our players, were able function w/o training at VR, guys like Bryant drifted/got in some trouble (admittedly immature); not sure Free in same category. OTOH, players like young Sean Lee is a self motivator with a great motor (sound familiar cause isn't that what Cowboys were looking for in the draft) worked hard in the offseason both physically & mentally (studying game film) did just fine.

Doesn't matter. Nothing matters if Romo has less than 3 seconds to throw the ball. By the looks of it, that is going to be the case again this year.

Mall security: Son you can't walk around this mall with your pants hanging down.

Dez Bryant: But I'm in training for the underwear olympics.

What have you seen that we have no seen? My goodness, OTA for rookies is not even a week fresh.

He hasn't seen anything. Just still sucking the same lemons as last year like a lot of other folks.

I do tend to agree here. I have said on another thread on here i think the interior of the OL is weak this season.

It usually takes NFL WRs 3 to 4 Seasons to learn the Pro game.

I definitely liked what I saw in Dez's limited rookie season until the unlucky injury. Last season was OK, but when your coming out of a walking boot going into your sophomore season you are already going to be behind. On top of that, you throw in the lockout and Dez really had an uphill climb last year. I'm confident he will do just fine this season. Kid has all the talent in the world and not once have I heard he is lazy.

He wins the beauty contest every year, but can the beauty translate onto to the playing field?

Exactly... I realize Irvin was hurt in his second year, but it took him three years to get it...

In his time off he learned to catch with his hands working with coaches... he caught WAY to many balls in his gut for my liking before that...

Hopefully this is Dez' breakout year...

My understanding is usually takes WR's 3 years in the NFL to develop. So wouldn't that put Dez right on schedule?

That's been the general rule: 3rd year is the breakout year for most WRs--assuming they ever break out.

Fitz, AJ Green and few others were exceptions.
